please explain why should i buy historical intraday stock data from esginal and the like while i can download them from IB? the historical data period might be limited, but if i don't need data beyond ?

The US has historically stood up for other countries for the freedom of expression and wouldn't be surprised if they do for HK even if just by words. It makes sense for the UK to stand up, which should through the UN make the US stand up as well. Maybe unintelligent for you, but that's my view...

That's what I don't get given the highly liquid Kospi, how can prop firms trade Kospi if there are shorting and other constraints on the singles side. None applies to them?
