Exit point should be a function of trading objective and style, which only you understand. You must have an objective before you initiate a trade; do you have any? Trading objective is more than buying/selling to make money. My goal is to double my capital in every trade, so I bail out when that...
What an experience!! It's good to discover one's psychological make-up and risk tolerance through trading.
Did you trade any market before options? If yes, for how long?
That explains why I don't trade retracements. However, retracements occur more often than TT (True Trend), so exploring it is worthwhile. Consider the recent moves by AAPL and SNDK. What's not visible on the daily is crystal clear on the intraday.
There is a short entry signal somewhere on the...
I'm glad you short AAPL. I couldn't convince myself to buy Puts on SNDK and AAPL and some other stocks. And that is leading me to start exploring again the idea of holding for 2-3 days.
I can't remember the last time my order was placed before market opens...maybe during Xecute in 2003....
ATI - looking at April 55 Puts for tomorrow morning. Will update if trade is plugged.
I didn't have the liver to short AAPL and SNDK even though I knew they would drop. I must be able...
I wholeheartedly agree with Maverick74!! In fact, Maverick74 and riskarb are something else - options guru. My resolve to play outright options stemmed from the fact each time I adjust my trade, I end up losing money because most times stock would go in the anticipated direction. So there really...
I found on ET an interesting thread:
http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53037&perpage=40&pagenumber=1
I've been playing with the intraday charts for some time now but won't trade until UPL, SNDK, and several others including AAPL which I know will be ready in few...
Some traders believe so much in support/resistance. In fact, one particular trader told me yesterday that SNDK would rally today, sure the stock rallied, but.....
For directional options' traders to succeed, the trader's prognosis of the market must not only be correct, the entry point must...
I don't advise traders to seek bottom/top of any security. Gone are the days of overbought/oversold. I don't do it!
Thanks for the link; I'll keep an eye on their predictions!
I'm so glad that SNDK has dropped over $4 since I spotted it for uptrend. Experience informed that the gap on 02/27/06 was false, so I was expecting a drop before new uptrend is established.
I'm waiting on SNDK and other stocks. :)
I will really love to see SNDK drop some more before I shoot for Call options. I believe SNDK is headed to $72....
DNA is at crossroads with the possibility for uptrend. I expect the stock to gain some $$ tomorrow, will watch for establishment of strong bullish move.
JCI - I'm glad that...
I'm looking for long entry. I'll wait until these stocks are ready. SNDK is likely to drop tomorrow thus following the pattern of AET (check 01/18 - 01/23 for AET).
JCI - looking for a retracement on the intraday.
DNA is looking good. I'll wait until entry is signalled on the intraday!
Yes! Otherwise I would have waited on the daily technicals to trigger the exit. I shoot for 100% in most cases until recently.....Once bitten, twice shy!
