I don't know why you are talking about homeruns and lotteries. A trader could have tight stops which lowers their win%. Everyone trades differently. Losing 3 trades then winning one trade does not result in losing all capital since position sizing comes into play.

are emotions/psychology the most important factor in success?

You are describing a trading strategy that is not common. Intraday and highly leveraged? Doing that for a while will turn anyone into a basketcase. Most traders are not basketcases or as unstable emotionally as I think you are implying. If most traders start from the same position, just average...

I hadn't heard that before but sounds plausible.

are emotions/psychology the most important factor in success?

I hear a lot about how psychology or our emotional state are the top reason(s) for trading success and that you must master these before you can become successful long term in trading. I am grouping these two together and positioning them as the third most important factor. If I rank what I...

Look at the size of the wins vs. the size of the losses. Win rate alone is truly meaningless. You could have a 25% win rate and still be profitable if each win was much larger than all of the small losses. Win rate means little; look at the bottom line and historical performance of the...

Just to provide an update, after lengthy correspondence with Collective2 they replied with the following assessment regarding my original question and my original post on this disucssion forum: so my strategy has not been showing up in the Leaderboard because their algorithm places a lot of...

When did that drawdown occur? Close to the onset of the strategy's origin. Then look at the performance of the strategy since then. See any more big dips in drawdown? And remember, win rate means nothing. It's about the bottom line and growing your capital. I do trade this strategy using my own...

I don't know why you carefully selected those two dates to nitpick. Look a few days before or a few days after them. Better yet, look weeks before or weeks after, or a month before and a month after.

Thanks. 1. I can pare down the number of trades if most people don't like that much exposure. 2. It still increased about 20% or so during this time. 3. Oct/Nov I was still getting things figured out with my trading strategy so things were in flux back then. 4. ^^^same 5. No, not sideways for...

For those who don't know Collective2 is a platform where anyone can open an account and start trading paper money. If their trading is any good, then investors will have a real opportunity to follow them and even have their brokers mimic their trades. You can view their Leaderboard to see which...

Other stocks/options prop firms besides SMB, T3, etc.

Their phone drops calls after about five rings. Their website does not give information about how to apply as a trader. The FAQ page does not expand out to reveal the answers to questions. And I've emailed them twice with no replies. I am interested but so far Black Eagle seems to be a mess.

Other stocks/options prop firms besides SMB, T3, etc.

Fondexx is located in Kyiv, Ukraine. RTG appears to be in Poland. I'll look at Roar and Great Point to see what comes of them. Not likely I will do anything with either though. Still searching...

Other stocks/options prop firms besides SMB, T3, etc.

I am ready to begin applying to places like SMB Capital, T3 Trading, and the ITPM (Anton Kreil). But what others are out there? I am sure the entire East Coast of the US must be littered by prop firms where you trade the firm's money but I have only heard of these. Let me know any that come to...

Forex vs stocks: Which market is better to trade?

Forex is a messy place. I traded it for six years and for about 5,000 hours. It's too crazy so I walked away from it and am trading equities now.
