    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

If you are using a system, it is mathematically impossible to improve your profit by scaling out. Cheers back at ya though, thanks for all the replies. Good talk :)

I talked to Don Bright on the phone a couple weeks ago and he told me I needed 15k minimum.

I am under the impression that this is NOT the case with equities. If you have info on any LEGITIMATE arcade/prop firms that allow a deposit of only 5k, please let me know.

I have a 2nd round interview with Tower Hill coming up, could you tell me why you think it's a scam?? This is obviously very important to me, please reply if you see this! Or PM me.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

If you are using market action at that point to dictate your decision making, then you shouldn't be exiting at all unless you're exiting the full position. You are implying that the edge has changed at the time you are scaling out of half. If there is still a favorable edge, then you should...

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

Thank you for the relevant response! 80% is great, what is your average holding time? I have read a bit about scaling out and I am under the impression that it is always a suboptimal strategy. Very interesting discussion here, I'd like to hear your thoughts on why you think scaling out is...

They're not made up, they are based on past data.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

We're getting way off track here. The initial post was to ask if it is a common scenario to use a 1:1 risk-to-reward setup and expect a 65% win rate. Is anyone employing a similar strategy? If so, it would be great to hear about it. This is purely based on 100% measurable past data. Has...

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

I'm really not following you. The stop distance is a function of the limit order. They are entered together, along with the exit. There is nothing subjective about it.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

I do have issues second guessing every strategy I try to implement, and it makes perfect sense that a good portion of an edge is always going to be extracted from an exit as opposed to just an entry but my results so far are a bit too good to pass up, I have only had one losing day in the last...

Yes yes you don't "know" anything, you have made your point sir.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

Duh, I'm talking about backtesting. You have a lot to learn if you don't know what I'm referring to.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

I don't know what a pro stop is but yeah the limit order/stop/target are all placed at the same time, upon completion of a candlestick.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

Equities, an average of 3-4 trades per day. Limit orders only.

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

Yes, obviously lots of profitable traders have 4:1 or better reward-to-risk setups and they are only right maybe 30% of the time, this is common knowledge. I am speaking merely about 1:1 setups, does anyone have ideas on whether or not 65% is a feasible win rate? I haven't fully backtested...

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

In general, do you think there are many simple intraday systems with a win ratio as high as 65% when the risk to reward is an even 1 to 1? I have a breakaway gap strategy that seems to trade very very very well on momentum, but despite my manual test results I am finding it hard to believe that...

Will pay for backtest data, please read and PM me if interested

If anyone wants to do this for me, please let me know. I would be willing to pay you ahead of time. I used to have an account at tradestation so I'm familiar with the layout, although I'm not sure the data can be exported or not :( Anyway, here is the criteria: First of all, the stock...

Will pay for backtest data, please read and PM me if interested

I'm just trying to gather some data on a fairly simple strategy, and I'd like to know if anyone can run a test on this for me and show me the results. I need EQUITIES data only, no futures or forex. 5 min charts for as many stocks as possible going as far back as possible. I'll get into...

euro up nearly 400 pips in the last 24 hours

I might be wrong but I don't think i've seen a move this gigantic ever. Of course I decided to arbitrarily fade 1.5700 about 20 min ago and its already over 40 pips against me. This is pretty gross.
