    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

Why does the risk reward matter? It seems you're implying that it would work with a more favorable ratio. I'm trying to understand why that would be the case, could you explain?

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

Yeah I couldn't agree with you more, in fact with my strategy I am noticing more and more often that it will trade up to 90% of my target before retracing fully (just like yours from what it sounds like). I try not to even pay attention just because its counterproductive to get involved in each...

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

How does taking smaller profits smooth your equity curve? I'm not contesting it, I'm just wondering how it works for you. Could you give me a specific example with numbers?

    Falling knives

You can't make more money scaling out if you are following a system. No matter what parameters you use, it is always better to exit fully. This thread is a great explanation: http://www.elitetrader.com/vB/showthread.php?threadid=78975&perpage=6&pagenumber=13

    65% win ratio with 1:1 risk/reward?

I'd just like to keep my drawdowns as low as possible and what better way to do that than to keep my win rate as high as possible.

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

Why would Gabrielle from Echo say that I need to trade that kind of volume to make up for the fees then? I'm still interested in joining Echo just because she said I'd only need 10k, but if I can get a decent % payout from this other prop firm that would back me fully, then I'd probably go with...

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

Your post isn't even relevant to the thread at all, I've traded for a prop firm before, I understand the possibilities. Based on the last sentence of your post, you obviously didn't even pay attention to what I said. And you posted it twice! Wow.

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

Not forced per se, but Gabrielle told me it wouldn't make sense to trade there unless my volume was around 100k shares per month. This is due to the $400/mo platform fee. I'd also have to put up at least 1500 to get licensed, so even if I had 10k, 20% of it would be gone in the first month alone.

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

Thanks for the info, I know there have been some recent investigations into prop firm business practices but I didn't have too many details. So are you saying that firms like Bright Trading will now require you to be somehow vested into the llc now? I don't really follow what that would entail...

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

If I'm profitable and they take a cut, then of course it's worth it for them. Even if they're getting 10%, it's still a good deal for them if you're a superstar.

prop firms: looking for course of action input/advice

It seems that you've found out that a lot of daytraders have lost their edges recently. I don't know anything about this and I would wondering if you could point me to some discussions about it on ET.

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

Comfortably, to start off, no more than 30k shares. Only 3-5 trades per day on average.

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

I am looking for a trading position in Chicago (STOCKS ONLY), I have a profitable intraday system that I'd like to trade but I only have about $7k that I can comfortably deposit. Does anyone know of any LEGITIMATE firms that accept a small deposit AND give a decent % payout? I have an...

    Start-up Capital - Loans, etc...

What is the reason you want to trade stocks?? I'm guessing it's because that is the only market you're familiar with. If that is the case, then I would definitely say you need to study up more and learn what every market is all about before you dive in. Forex.com is a fantastic place to start...

Yeah there has been a lot of cracking down lately on that. Don Bright does seem like a very honest guy, he told me he'd give me any info he had on other prop firms that asked for less than 25k, many of them have been shady with payouts and what not. I'm in Chicago so there is no shortage of...
