Different market data providers having different data, who is right?

It seems that many market providers use the last 4 quarters to calculate PE, rather than the last full year data. Forward PE with using analyst data... honestly from what I see, analysts are infrequently wrong so I don't find it useful.

Different market data providers having different data, who is right?

In the end, I had to look into their financial results. As fiscal years in Japan are somewhat different I think, I did look into FY19 Q4 https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/library/presen/er/pdf/19q4_sony.pdf it shows same as Marketwatch, so I guess the real number should be PE (TTM) 25.68 (or if...

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/SNE?p=SNE&.tsrc=fin-srch shows PE (TTM) 23.87 https://www.investing.com/equities/sony shows PE 13.79 If I understand correctly PE (TTM) and PE should be the same, both indicators are for the last 12 months?

When money from Stock Yield Enhancement Program is credited to the account?

Hi, some of my HK stocks were lent out. When IB will charge the borrower and bill the interest to my account? What happens with the interest if I sell it before the borrower returns the loan? Do I still get money from lending out the shares for days before my sale?

Could someone explain the reasoning about Wallstreet.st "fair value" formula?

Simplywall.st shows that Sony is highly overvalued. However, Sony has a PE Ratio (TTM) 23.31 on Finance.yahoo.com so I did look into their reasoning. I couldn't understand it. Could someone explain this reasoning...

Sony SNE stock short term opinions?

Well done, it's a pity I couldn't buy options on Sony. I don't have market data on IB and it was very slow and buggy so I gave up. They are now worth probably 300%+ more.

Are we still crashing? Seen the Top? 2/1/21

I did look into India stocks. Indeed it looks like a bubble, but how do you expect a crash this year in the US after Google, Microsoft and Amazon reported great earnings? Difficult to happen at least in Q1. Japan, China and EU are also not in the bubble territory, according to the...

    Novice

I found it very very hard to trade options. I got a feeling I'm doing my analysis, which software could do better instead. Stocks are more liquid and easier.

Sony SNE stock short term opinions?

(Disclaimer: I've got a position in Sony recently). Anyone here also has a feeling that Sony will beat estimates tomorrow and stock do a very nice at least in a short term? (It looks undervalued anyway)

Who will determine the fate of GME?

If hedge funds closed their position, it would be returned to the original owner. It could be available for lending again. But it's not, the number of shares available for lending decreased. Seems like an asset is a high demand or for any reason owners do not want to lend it anymore, even with...

The Market is going to CRASH!

My opinion: if we see a `crash` this year, it will more likely be up to 10% correction. Reasoning: I'm a small personal investor who missed great opportunities because I was kind of lazy and not ready for risks (I thought it would be a good idea to buy google stock in 2007 and Amazon stock in...

What does a high fee rate to borrow stock suggests?

There are some contradicting (in my opinion) articles about this. This article: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4322523-obvious-shorts-highest-borrowing-fee-stocks-in-u-s-market suggests that "But to find stocks that are fundamentally obvious poor investments (to investors willing to do the...

Help newbie in understanding Options (Using IB)

Aha, if they have any value on the expiration date, they will automatically be exercised. So early exercise is possible, which means it is not on that date, but "up to the expiration date". I found a relevant article on Investopedia: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/earlyexercise.asp so...

Help newbie in understanding Options (Using IB)

Thanks caroy! Another newbie IB sub-question, is it possible to mark an option to be exercised on its date using the IB web interface? I ask that as I currently do not own any. Or to exercise the option, I need access to TradeWorkstation (market data subscription)? To admin: I ask here as IB...

What does a high fee rate to borrow stock suggests?

hmm... I would actually like to know possible reasons that stock could have a high borrow fee rate / low borrow fee rate. Who determines a fee rate? What they are using to determine it? Something more about it. Thanks
