You can always short the stock and have a free put option.
Offset a short squeeze (borrow is essentially a dividend).

I often trade when there isn’t news - but as I said the anticipation of no news is the ideal market for a short vol trader.

I’m pretty sure that if I knew the news ahead of time I could make billions on very little capital. Just because you suck at trading doesn’t mean the rest of us do.
Im suggesting that the OP should stop paying 1k/month each to three different brokers for live data and instead pay that 1k/month to Bloomberg and get far more info and all the live quotes he needs.
You can trade without paying for live market prices. I used to do it all the time (when I had delayed quotes with E*TRADE and live quotes on my
Bloomberg)
that’s the hard part. All the talk about what IV is, etc is just text book knowledge. Determining what is rich and cheap is the application of that knowledge and there isn’t a clear objective answer.
