Forgive me Father for I am about to sin and disgrace myself by naming my prediction for Dem nominee.

Biden - Warren ?? to bring the Bernard voters along maybe? Really, the only important question remaining is who will be the the new AG and how long will it take him/her after next January to indict Trump. I doubt it will matter. It's unlikely Putin wouldn't block Trump's extradition from...

Everytime The Fed blows bubble every time it bursts into their faces

Rather than just repeat or paraphrase what has already been said about Treasury-Fed-SEC- tools available to let some of the air out of bubbles, I will refer you to pages 41-45 of The George Soros Lectures at the Central European University. This little book is available for a few dollars on...

    Prediction markets presidential odds

Following your helpful suggestion, I just asked the 8-ball if the S&P would reach my target of 2750 in 10 months or less, and the answer was "Yes, definitely!"

Everytime The Fed blows bubble every time it bursts into their faces

If you mean that had the Fed not intervened to assure adequate liquidity in markets -- one of their main functions -- the markets would stop functioning well and there would have been negative repercussions for the equities markets, I can't disagree. But that would have been irresponsible action...

Everytime The Fed blows bubble every time it bursts into their faces

I don't mean to be argumentative or disrespectful, but my personal belief is that this is wrong. The Fed does not create market "bubbles". Bubbles are a feature of capitalism. The first economist to recognize this formally was Keynes. A mention of this is included in his "General Theory.." in...

If you want something finite, valuable and useful, buy chalk

Thanks. I just ordered a box of their colored chalk on Amazon to give to a friend who maintains the chalk board at my neighborhood bar. Maybe I should have tried to buy the entire inventory to hawk on Ebay a year from now.

how far could the market go down?

No argument there. I agree it doesn't look good. I've a tendency to sit on hands a little too long while waiting for confirmation before I act. I've learned I'm good at guessing but horrible at guessing right. :D

how far could the market go down?

We've had lots of mild recessions and a few fairly severe ones, and one whopper since the great depression. I guess what I'm saying, and none to clearly, is that as long as earnings are still rising or not declining significantly a recession is probably a ways off. Probably this 1st quarter of...

how far could the market go down?

I consider peak corporate earning one of the more reliable harbingers of a recession. Not sure if we have the final 2019 fourth quarter tally yet but 133 should be pretty close. This suggests we may have put in a peak (136). This is more reliable than inverted yield. While an inverted yield...

    Current Market Conditions

Actually I like my earlier 2750 estimate a little better ~ 19% correction. Expect a bounce there and maybe end of selling for time being, but certainly lower in not out of the question..

Welcome to Baghdad, oops, I mean Baltimore

A great deal of evidence was produced suggesting collaboration!. Mueller said that because of his employer's policy he could not indict the President, and therefore he ruled out charging the President. Nevertheless he was very clear that had he been able to exonerate the President he would have...
