Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

It is most unfortunate, because it has misled you, that you have confused the English word "on" with the English word "as". Your correspondent echoed the subject of your enclosed paper back to you, thus: Thank you for your letter of 10 May and for the enclosed paper on a solution to the current...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

I'll post the quote from George Osborne's letter to you, in 2006, for you. "Thank you for your letter of 10 May and for the enclosed paper on a solution to the current pension problem. You are right to identify the need to encourage people to invest into a private pension scheme.Your paper is...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

 You seem to be telling us, he used it after he was no longer Chancellor. In what capacity did he "subsequently" "use" it, and what on Earth for?, may I ask. Despite my following your various links I failed to turn up the alleged letter. Possibly you could just post it here, or...

What Books have you read that you would reread or recommend?

Based on the books you liked may I suggest Dana's "Two Years before the Mast", a Harvard Classics. Also I think you would like Clinton Cranes, "Yachting Memories," If you can locate a used copy somewhere. A few spectacular photos of the early Americas cup yachts in that one. If you are a...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

Why not go ahead and post the letters you've received in response to your own letters. That could be quite revealing of the awe in which the Chancellor of the Exchequer holds your views. ;)

I'm not pushing anything. I'm not even pushing reality. I'm only trying , but failing, to get you to stop posting nonsense.

    This is why we riot

Probably the the "animals" you refer to are not the same ones wondering why they can only get liquor stores and Dollar General in the their neighborhood. There are those who are protesting police brutality and then there are those with a very different agenda who find opportunity in these protests.

Read it again. Then read L. Randall Wray's, "Understanding Modern Money."

    MAGAtard attempts terrorism

There is more than one truth. Lets hope real criminal justice reform comes out of this . So very badly needed in our struggling nation with a total Jackass as a leader.

    Total lawlessness in Minnesota

Start giving a few cops the death penalty (which I'm against by the way) and the looting problem and the lawless cop problem may both be solved, and we could say, " those cops died for a good cause." We have got to reform our police training! guess who pays for all those out of wedlock...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

No No No. The money the Bank borrows to loan out is a liability, but only a fraction of it must be held on reserve , can't be loaned. And that small fraction just brings the bank to their required reserve amount they need, no excess! The rest is loaned out. The loan they make will be a bank...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

Most people, from vice presidents down, who work in banks haven't a clue how their Central Operates and controls the wholesale price of money.

Would rather hold the debt of the US or of Apple?

Risk and return for everyone. except those in Congress , the President and his family and friends and everyone else with inside information, are always directly related, but the relationship may not be linear.

Criminal convictions at risk of being overturned because Tera Reade lied.

I remember some controversy about that that came out later. Something about the door having been added for some other purpose, was it rental of part of the house maybe? Anyway when I looked this stuff up it was completely unclear, to me anyway, whether she was talking about her husband wanting...

Criminal convictions at risk of being overturned because Tera Reade lied.

Personally, I thought the case for Kavanaugh having lied under oath about peripheral matters was compelling, regardless of what one thought of the Ford accusations. The one witness that might have been able to confirm whether the event in question happened was not contacted by the FBI...

The Scientific Models that Drive US Public Policy on COVID are Wildly Wrong

I don't think the CDC can any longer be trusted now that we are in "the age of Trump" where up is down and down is up, the watch dogs are fired, and everyone else is afraid they'll be next. There is reason to believe that this data on asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 is too high by at least 100%. See...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

Your going to be doing yourself a big favor by reading Mosler's book. If you want to propose improvements to banking then I would think the first step is to correctly understand how banking works now.

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

Rothbard is a well known, Austrian School leaning economist -- he's dead isn't he? -- but you should read Read, in preference to Rothbard, Mosler's well written little book. And then read: http://neweconomicperspectives.org/category/l-randall-wray and, http://bilbo.economicoutlook.net/blog/...

Does the US need a central bank (the FED)

Mosler's is accurate except it is pre U.S. C.B dropping the reserve requirement. A step in the right direction certainly.

The Fed has Eliminated Reserve Requirements for All Depository Institutions

You definitely would prefer to barter for everything. :D
