    red trend line shows that the gap as defined by brooks is closed and hence the gap is an exhaustion gap. the yellow line shows a gap so at least a measured move down may be expected.

    it is always both....a range may be a trend in a longer time frame all ranges are pull backs or trend in a longer time frame. but this is off topic.... i am not sure what the question was...perhaps if it was rephrased......

    a two leg move into an extreme of a range may be faded. a two leg breakout out of a range may be faded.....target the bottom of the mentioned range see chart horizontal lines show extreme of range ...trendlines show two leg moves

    no you can do it if it is range...... as in the chart above. enter with a wide stop and scale in.......you can see 2 trades that worked in my journal.....of course sooner or later the wide stop will trigger.....but because it is wide, the probability is high that will NOT trigger most...
