To me IB's action shows how much they care about idividual trader. They could give people 24 notice if they cared. Given today's market action it was very last minute but pretty good call in the end...

Your comment makes it 10th top reason why daytraders can fail: They ignore long term charts. If you think that stock A is going to trend up then scalp it all day in the long direction while using long term chart stops. Simple and it works as long as you can predict long term trend correctly.

You owe them because it's wallstreet that made homes so expensive -treating homes as another investment and not just the place to live. Thanks to speculators and realtors home prices apreciated to the levels where they become out of reach at 30year fixed mortgage prices. What did the banks do...

I like do like above plan a lot better compared to anything we know about the 700b plan. I think it's similar to Swedish bailout plan of 1990. The problem many people would have about it is nationalisation of wallstreet.

In 7 to 10 years GS could go as high as 250 due to inflation. 115 is the top in today's money given lower leverage and shrinking economy.

If credit crisis is eased by the bailout, many businesses will linger on and will not fire as many people. So the short answer is- you , or your neighbor, get to keep your job.

This not so much investment into GS but more likely Buffet's investment towards orderly markets.
