    Memory speed vs. memory timing??

Thanks proflogic - how important is it for me to match FSB of CPU with memory and motherboard - should I go for the better processor Intel Core 2 Duo 6750 @ 1333 / or Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 @ 1066 ( the 1066 will be the same as my memory & motherboard) - or does it even matter? Thanks -

    Memory speed vs. memory timing??

If I am matching the speed of the RAM with the the bus speed of the motherboard, should I too match the FSB of the CPU? It's difficult to find AFFORDABLE RAM with a frequency of 1333Mhz - so was going to get 1066 instead... motherboard should accomodate either 1333 or 1066 - but should I then...

    Memory speed vs. memory timing??

does one sacrifice performance with ECC memory? Is the performance difference even meaningful? Does the quality of the data that ECC ensures outweigh any loss of performance of comparable non-ECC memory?

    Memory speed vs. memory timing??

I am looking into building a new comp - and have read different posts stressing the speed of memory. I know in gaming - sacrificing memory speed for more aggressive memory timing actually improves performance. Is this true with trading as well, or is better to go with faster memory and slower...

What risk % do position traders use?

    say you're buying xyz @ 20 and your stop is at 19 - you're risking $1 per share ... if you risk 2% of equity per trade ($2K of $100K) - then you can purchase 2K shares... 2,000 shares * $1 risked per share = $2,000. 2,000 shares * $20 stock price = $40K of capital invested.

ROI - Top ETs vs. SAC traders / Golman Sachs prop vs. Bright prop

thanks for sharing... best of luck increasing your capacity. and the topic has been brought up a couple times now - as capacity/capital traded increases, return expectations generally decrease. I realize that it requires different strategies and an entirely different mentality to trade...

ROI - Top ETs vs. SAC traders / Golman Sachs prop vs. Bright prop

So at some point account size / capital is a key variable that can't be ignored or factored out of the equation. Would you say skill level aside - that capital managed is the biggest difference between the top traders on both sides of the equation? On some level - a good trader is a good...

ROI - Top ETs vs. SAC traders / Golman Sachs prop vs. Bright prop

ROI - Top ETs vs. SAC traders / Golman Sachs prop vs. Bright prop

True - consistency and sustainability are the real tests of quality and skill. And I would have to say that those that have great track records for 5 - 10 years are the truly elite - whether you're trading at SAC or out of your home office. For those that have those (5-10 yr) track records -...

ROI - Top ETs vs. SAC traders / Golman Sachs prop vs. Bright prop

Risk/reward returns - is that because retail and small time prop traders are forced to trade with more risk due to the smaller account size - you have to push the envelope to make decent money? Or are the systems of the top Wall Street and Hedge Fund traders that far superior to those of the...

ROI - Top ETs vs. SAC traders / Golman Sachs prop vs. Bright prop

So I've always been curious - How do the annual returns of the top retail and small time prop traders compare to the returns of the top traders at the Wall Street banks and big hedge funds? I.e. - Best Bright trader vs. top SAC trader? I.e. - Top ET trader vs. top Goldman trader? I...
