    Absolutely time decay is irrelevant. Why would anyone be concerned with time decay on this sort of trade? On another note this was a good call by the OP, especially for a first option trade.

    The OP didn't give a final update. Keep an eye on your long call trade into expiry. Even if they are OTM you might be better off selling-to-close. The risk can be more than the debit you paid for them.

    Most likely a federal restriction - not brokers. IB will take the money from a non-IRA account - I assume other brokers would do the same. The thread below is about an IRA account $9,200 in the red due to a GOOG call option trade and IB took the money from his non-IRA account...

    Buy the stock only. The short call will act as an anchor to your trade.

    What is the issue? Low premium collected. If ABC got to $110 it will most likely settle well above $110. The option premium collected will be less than the difference of ABC and the option strike (110.00). Options 101 - "There is no free lunch".

    Don't get caught up in theory and option greek mumbo jumbo. In reality a Covered Call is neutral. A stock called away is not bullish - and it will happen.
