    Where do i get started?

I would suggest diving into the world of technical analysis. A good place to start is with Edwards & Magee's book, "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends." With your background as an engineer, I would think it would suit you. T http://actionpointsta.blogspot.com/

    Fibs....

I need to get a basic understanding of Fibs and how to implement them in my personal TA, specifically with potential tops and bottoms. So much theory, so little real-time calls!!!

Not sure what the big deal is about calling live trades. Who really cares? I provide specific calls "days" in advance with exact entry / exit points, and I'm pretty sure they aren't traded by anyone other than myself and a few close friends that don't have a clue how to generate their own ideas...

1:08PM, May 19/08, NDX Multiday Market Call! Sell anylong, and Go Short

I didn't see anything complex in arriving at the decision to go short yesterday. The NDX (Gap 2050) and the SPX (Wedge 1440) hit major resistance at precisely the same time.

1:08PM, May 19/08, NDX Multiday Market Call! Sell anylong, and Go Short

Excellent spot to take on a short....S&P & NDX @ resistance (1440 & 2050) at the same time. I'm with you Riskfree. Hopefully, we won't see higher highs after 2:30. Good Luck, T http://actionpointsta.blogspot.com/

I am seriously thinking of shorting oil long term

I would avoid DUG. It's not a pure play on oil. If you can find the shares, USO is a better play. T http://actionpointsta.blogspot.com/
