The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I'm probably repeating myself or beating a dead horse at this point, but I just don't see it being worthwhile as a viable alternative for actual funding. If they actually gave you a $150K account to trade and you could trade 15 lots and still be within their daily risk parameters it would be...

You should be. And glad you are.

Finally something we could agree on in this thread. :)

You won't be able to trade 15 contracts with the cushion of $5000K. Didn't you see the scaling plan I posted? To trade 15 contracts with OneUp/MES - you need 12K in your funded account. And if your first 15 contract trade is a loss - you're back to 10 or 8 lots depending on how much you lost...

I outlined other differences, too. Explain to me why you'd want to continue trading with such a firm after your first 8K (13K really as you need to build a cushion of 5K first) of profits from which you get 100%? Why continue trading when they're taking a 20 % cut and you can get 100% in your...

    Stress and Trading

Daily P&L is what matters, IMO. I've slowly learned that it's better to give a trade room to breathe and even scale in/out instead of taking almost certain losses using too small stops (which quickly add up). :) But that's also instrument dependent, I suppose. Some instruments are more suited...

Negative S&P Returns Over The Next Decade: BofA

Loads of money flowing in from foreign investors, too. The interest in the stock market have literally exploded here in Norway over the last few years and more than a few are literally borrowing money to buy stocks. Zero rate policy is not limited to the US. Since consensus is established that...

I trade through Ninjatrader Brokerage. They offer $500 day trading margins on NQ/ES. Actually, you can't trade 15 contracts immediately as a funded trader. There's a scaling plan. To trade 15 contracts, you need $12K in profits after getting funded. So, including the evaluation, you need to...

    Stress and Trading

Parameters I imagine may be affecting stress: - Knowledge level/methodology: - Bet size - Account size / personal net worth, i.e., how much does the money you're risking mean to you - Importance of your results, i.e., do you need to profit in trading or would you be completely fine if not...

Beige book just released. As the market's not tanking and not even a spike like we had last time - I assume the content must have been bullish. Weak drop from here into the Close or a good close above 4520 is my bet. Favouring the latter.

No follow through to the down, though. Maybe filling that gap was it. It would be mind boggling if we actually reversed above 4520 on the day, but we've seen stranger things.

Interesting. Gap below on ES filled now. Reversal area here or potential for a larger slide. IMO, of course.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

And out B/E. Best thing I did for my trading was to use wider stops. There's a cost of going in and out of the market - both commissions and losing a good position. But once in a while it's wise to tighten up. Just going to monitor this and see what's up. I think we can see a good move above...

We're at an inflection point on higher time frames, IMO. Need a good push above 20 to reverse that. Still looks like this could roll over - so wise to be cautious. As always. :)

Small long from 16.50. Nimble. EDIT: Will scratch this at B/E if stopped.
