    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Volatile. Probably a lot of positions being unwinded on last day of month. We had two Inside Days in a row recently which is kind of rare. Unless that repeats again today - we should trade below 45 or above 77 today. I'm leaning long from here, but staying flexible on that view...

    Expectations..

Retail day traders? Skill or did they luck out? Plenty of rags-to-riches stories in crypto, but I can't help think a lot of it comes down to luck.

Grabbed a piece of that pop. No strong read for the day ahead. Could rip and take out yesterday's HOD, but yesterday's LOD is still in play, although it's shaping up to be pretty bullish right now.

    Gap buyers showed up.

Anticipating a test of yesterday's LOD today (4334.75). If that doesn't hold - it could get interesting. Not that far below to last week's low (4293.75). Should be good ranges to play either way.

Natural gas looking like MEME stock!

Generally, it can go higher or lower than you think. Going long or short for a directional trade because you think it's too high or too low is generally not a good idea. I'll admit to making this same mistake myself from time to time.

    dest's overwrite journal

Your behavior online is completely different, though. If you truly were confident and not looking for approval, you wouldn't constantly try to berate others and try to prove yourself in every single post you make. For someone allegedly successful and humble, you sure make a lot of noise...

Current LOD is 43.50, so might be close enough. Gap filled on SPX, too.

These are the kind of days that tends to throw me a curveball. With Powell on the stand - I wonder if this one could totally reverse higher as well. Normally, that wouldn't happen, though. Any takers?

For reference - last Monday was down 2.87 %. Only half way there so far today. EDIT: 3 % down takes us to 4300. It could happen.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

That said - there's an open gap below from last week @ 4341.75. So, paying attention to that one for today. Need to see some solid upside momentum before attempting the long side from here. Right now, this is smooth and controlled going lower...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

It's my experience that when you get some serious selling beyond a mere retrace - levels kind of stop mattering. Last Monday was one such day. Today could be another one...

With Powell testifying soon, I imagine this might swing both ways by EOD.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Turned out to be a bigger drop, so void this call. The last few Tuesdays opening gap down have been rather bearish. Flat and watching now. Feels late to enter the short side and too soon to pick a bottom. Open gap here @ 84, though.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

It's always darkest before dawn... :) If we could open inside yesterday's range today I think we're looking at a big up day in the cards. But right now it's looking kind of dim. I will wait for the RTH Open to position myself.

He won't. Because that will destroy the image he's built (or trying to build) of himself as someone who's wildly successful and is better than everyone else. That one bad call or even two in a row will do a lot to tarnish that.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Respectfully, I disagree. However, I note that it's common to consider one being skillful when things go the right way and blame bad luck when things go sour. There's plenty of good and bad luck (randomness) both in trading and in life, but obviously you can't build a strategy on luck alone. In...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Two Inside Days in a row. Barring a bigger drop by tomorrow's Open - tomorrow should trade above 4450 and close positive net. Could possibly be a biggie, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

    Tribute to Brooks

With so called 'price action' trading as popularized by Brooks and others before him it's typical with conflicting signals at times. Also, it can be hard to interpret what it all means. One of the weaknesses with such methods. There's double tops/bottoms, IHS/HS, flags and what have you. Each...
