Shorted that break, but stopped out on the initial pop above the Open for a 2 point loss. Re-shorted and held all the way to 14.50 where I trailed myself out for about 8 points profit. Saw it. But didn't fully trade it. I'm damaged goods after taking a few big hits on shorts during the covid...

Should see at least 4610 now.

Nice job! When you say 35 points I assume that's total and not per contract?

Bounced off last week's mid point pretty much to the tick on today's Open. Okay. 1 point shy. If the LOD / Open doesn't hold on the next thrust down - I'm thinking maybe 4590 for a target today. Range bound right now and could be bottoming out. I do not have a strong read.

Inside Day so far by a point. As long as we stay below 80 I wouldn't feel too safe below yet. Personally, I got on the wrong side of the market this morning, even though I knew a drop was likely. It happens. Not too much damage, though.

Dropped more than anticipated iinto the Open, so that does change things a bit, but could still see a good long play here for the day. Lots of air below created last week which should get filled sooner or later. Low 4600. But maybe not today.

Gap & Go on the Open or a weaker pullback to 4700 before higher. If not - a deeper pullback to 4680 and possibly lower, yes? The deeper pullback on Mondays is what we've seen lately, but time to change it up I think. :)

    any views on Earn2trade's Gauntlet

Not to my knowledge. Yes, I thought it was nice of them to disclose that, although they don't go out of their way to show it. It's in black text at the very bottom of their front page.

I will not endorse them, but out of all the get-funded programs for futures - Earn2Trade seems like the best alternative for a few reasons starting with the most important first: 1. If you're funded, you'll actually get to trade a real account with trades going to the market. Most of the...

    Let's increase those odds by n = + 1.

Went back up, though. ;) Another range bound day is likely. Major upside target tagged. Minor downside target tagged. Odds seems to favour some weakness, though. Meaning that a move down to 80 or even 70 shouldn't surprise anyone. No strong opinion/read on my end, but the higher time frames...

    Days I hate..

You would not hate the day if you had a strategy to exploit that day. Not every day is equal. Trading a range bound day like it's a trend day or vice versa will lead to frustration and poor results. My bias/expectation for the last few days (ES) have been range bound / consolidation, so I've...

    Risk Management is the answer

I always thought averaging down meant adding to a loser regardless of direction (long/short). And averaging up meant adding to a winner, i.e., adding more units on rising prices on a long and vice versa on a short.

Close enough. The rest of the day seems more uncertain. Probably going to see some range bound action / consolidation today. Probably not the best area to get greedy on long entries as we covered a lot of ground this week already.

No support at the prior day close. Let's see if 80 can stop this.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

No strong statistical edge here from my point of view. I'd say neutral / bullish for the day ahead. Still looking for that 4698,50 print during RTH. So, maybe targeting 4700 and not trying to get too greedy after that. Could pull back a bit on the Open, but it's possible the main move out of...

    Risk Management is the answer

Agreed. And it's a lesson I've been slow to learn, but after a few blown accounts and relatively large losses, maybe I've learned it now. Never put yourself in a position where the outcome of one single trade or one single day can do great damage to your account. A problem here is that if you...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

This is not clear to me. Can you show with an example how price follows volume? The way I understand it - price moves because of liquidity imbalances, i.e., market orders (liquidity takers) overwhelming the available limit orders (liquidity providers) at a given level. If the supply was...
