Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

Great post. Keeping your house in order and not trading with scared money is no doubt important. I imagine those who are well capitalized and wealthy could approach trading almost similar to trading in a simulator. So, keeping your house in order, trading with money that wouldn't bother you to...

You were super bullish on the 12th of September as well and multiple times on the way down as we fell 600 points. Just saying... :) If (do we know?) today's reversal was triggered by a rumor, I believe any rumor or confirmation of the opposite will reverse this just as quickly. Bear markets...

Just happened again (watching at work through TradingView). Dropped to a new low and then spiked like crazy. Maybe there was news?

If there's one thing I've observed in this bear market and I suppose it's true for ES in general, that is how key levels usually won't break cleanly. There's always a bid in this market. Occasionally you get a bidless trend lower, but certainly not always.

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

My own basic view is that psychology work can’t make a trader, but maybe it can help a trader improve if he already have a basic methodology with a positive expectancy. It’s also possible that there are traders who have a basic methodology that’s working, but mental limitations or issues or...

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

Hello everyone, Many years ago when I didn’t know the difference between the bid and the ask I read a few of the popular trading books on psychology. No doubt it was of little help as I didn’t know a thing or two about trading. Now that I have a methodology and approach which seems to be...

Would be surprised if we don’t print 3650 overnight. Further surprised if that holds. We’re at the RTH Week Low here at 61.50. I don’t think it will hold. Schizo’s 3600 looks well within bounds. Tomorrow is Op-Ex, though. That could surely influence things in interesting ways.

Bull Markets Are Comparitively Easy... Bear Markets Are Tough

Fully agree. I just closed out a short trade, but have to say I generally prefer playing the long side as those trends generally seem to be smoother. You can get the occasional sweet and smooth short trade like this afternoon, but usually it's spikey and with much stronger counter-moves. The...

Flat here. I'm really happy about how I handled today's session as I adressed something that's been a bit of an issue for me intraday as I can get locked down on a bias and don't quickly enough switch to the right side of the market. I was still leaning long today after getting stopped out...

Outside Day. As predicted! :) Let's see if this gets traction. 3665 can trigger a bounce if we continue lower, so may be wise to consider closing out shorts there. If 60 breaks - watch out!

Always KISS after the fact. :) What does your VolPro say right now about the rest of the session/week? Will this major support level at 83/84 break or will we bounce?

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

83/84 have been a major demand/support zone this entire week, so the bulls can still spoil this. That's exactly where we bottomed out for now.

I use ES RTH 09:30/16:00 session for my gaps on ES as well. But you seemed to use the low/high of the wick. I use the close value.

Tanking. Glad I consulted my statistical model. ;) So, the first level to watch below is 3676,75. When that breaks we have an Outside Day and that's my expectation right now. Wouldn't have entered a new short now as I figure it's too risky. Outside Days are after all rare. Next biggie below...

For the gap value I use the cash close @ 04:00. So, last Friday's Close / gap is 3599,25. Tricky spot here, IMO. Not my best trading session. I'm prepared to stop out my late short for a loss if we trade much above 3700 from here. Ideally, we tank now. :) There's plenty of potential support...

If this rolls over here, I would guess 3650 today. Lots of air below from Monday's big ass gap up. But needs to break the LOD first, so no need to get ahead of ourselves.

Not very bullish. Outside Day potential. I'm a late short here, but will not post it as it's a hazzle to keep up here. I'm always worried that the market will find a bid any minute, but this isn't looking pretty. Possible major reversal coming up here.

That's twice in a row. - 3. @Master Pu stopped praying. Need to re-asess a bit here. Still not convinced on the short side, so need to check what my statistical model says for this.

Ready to scratch this quickly if no strong pop. If this level doesn't hold, well. Doesn't look pretty.
