    ES Journal - 2021/2022

There's been some talk about seasonality in this thread recently. Here's an article suggesting there's a difference between bull and bear markets. Might warrant some caution moving forward. Chart Of The Week - Bear Market Seasonality

Strong up-tick close on the ETH, on a Friday...

I've no idea, but I've noted that on prior tops this year the bullish sentiment, outlook and price behavior have appeared to be very strong - only to reverse hard. Maybe this time it's different. There's also some strong seasonality into play for this part of the year, but that's only...

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

Interesting. Why or when do you have sufficient anxiety or emotional pain? When you're in drawdown on a position? I'm sure your story about leaving WS and going out on your own would be interesting to hear more about if you were willing to share more on that. I imagine the psychological...

Have you had benefits from psychological work in your trading?

So far in this thread there doesn't seem to be anyone who can attest to this. I actually have The Daily Trading Coach by Brett Steenbarger in my shelf and took a glance at it this morning, but it seems very tedious and dry. Not sure if I'm interested in reading it again. I may be more...

T3 Trading Group is going to be funding traders

Interesting. I talked with them a while back and they seem serious, but the deal they offered me didn't seem to make sense for me at the time. I had to put up first-loss capital. In the end, there would be no advantage to me as I could simply utilize day trading margins with a discount broker...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Sure. I like to tell it like it is. If you want to succeed in this business you have to be 100% honest with yourself and I have no desire to be a pretender online. Thank you. I would love to know specifically what your good trading friend means by the psychological aspect if you can share...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

That was my forecast earlier this week. However, even if a forecast eventually turns right, there's a shit ton which can happen between A and B in this market, so trading it isn't necessarily as straight forward or easy as those pullbacks or short term reversals can be as deep as the ocean. For...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

In between that "TA" - there was a f**k ton of movement, though. No need to get overly anything in this environment, IMO. This is not the bull market of the last 10 years, but a fairly volatile and nervous market which turns on a dime making fools of both bulls and bears.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Looks like the face ripper lost momentum once again. Not the easiest conditions to navigate at the moment. Probably best to not get overconfident both ways. I find it a bit funny that one guy who’s underwater on a long position on these boards seems to be quite bearish… :)

    I keep cutting my winners

Happened with me this month. Not taking tips or engaging in office talk, but getting sloppy, unfocused and greedy after a very good September. The result was a drawdown this month.

    Index futures scalping

I'm not sure such an indicator exists. At least not one out of the box available for retail traders. ES backfills a lot, so it's not really a momentum market. Occasionally you get these one way moves that runs, but a lot of the time it's a jiggy and zaggy market. I imagine this is due to all...

Probably stuck here until post ###. No way I'm holding anything into that. Scared shitless after those last two CPI reports.

    Index futures scalping

That's the inherent problem with scalping ES. It's virtually impossible to gain 1 point without at least double the risk. Maybe it can work if you enter with market orders on momentum, but I'm sure it won't work consistently. At 12 points of heat your R/R is extremely negatively skewed. I can't...

    Index futures scalping

So, you're scalping for one point per trade? What is your risk/stop-loss? The likely flaw with your strategy is that you need a 90 % win rate or more to have a positive expectancy since you likely have a very negative R/R ratio. On the other hand, if you risked 1 to gain 2, you could get ahead...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

This 40 area is still a very thick demand zone, so I'm expecting ~ 35-40 to hold. If I don't catch the short side today, so be it. I imagine any selling, if at all, would come post economic ### 1 hour prior to the Open. My only concern right now is that lagging little b*tch. I hope that...
