Its not a question of willing. To post ones P&L requires that one be motivated to do it. That means it makes one happier or more satisfied and implies that the negative consequences (IR getting onto you or personal attacks) are lower. Its hard to see how posting losing days (unless rare)...

I think the people who criticize posters on the P&L thread are continuing losers who are projecting their inadequacies onto others.

It is the default feed for IB's own charts. Its not the old API feed. Its requested differently. So for a new charting package it might be the default (or not) as its a developer decision.

In Sierrachart you just put the suffix -TD on the symbol and out it comes. It probably depends on whether your charting package developer has got around to supporting it yet. The SC boys are very prompt.

Actually you're out of date. IB provides a true data feed (5 second bars) that is correct for extreme ticks etc. I use SierraChart and it lets you combine the 5 second bars with the real time feed to give a correct and timely output chart. And it has no lag in fast markets.

What is it about IB related threads that brings out the wankers? 1. IB quotes are not free (they are paid for by commissions just like everything else). 2. They are not a joke. If you understand their strengths and weaknesses they are very good. I wouldn't trade HSI based on expensive...

Opened 39 points under yesterday lows (got all the stops on longs and any sell stops waiting for a drop). Then up 104 point in under a minute. 188 points in 5 minutes. 246 points in 6 minutes. 272 points in 9 minutes. Can you feel the balls tighten on anyone who went short at open?

You weren't trading Eastern Standard Time anyway --- you were trading Eastern Daylight Savings Time or Eastern Daylight Time. But I'd hate to have to get up early too. I changed markets until I found one that started at 11:45am and let me finish at 6pm.

But on a less confrontational note. I've been trading for 10+ years and trading hsi for several years and I am never surprised to discover another problem that I have never had before. This won't be the last for either of us.

I built one once that compared range over a period average range (not true) over the same period. Does a good job of showing how trendy a market is (movement divided by noise). You can also choose your "trendiness period" with this approach.
