Plodder, If your charts are only updating every 5 seconds you are using the 5 second bars. I use Sierrachart for charting and my charts update every 150 milliseconds (or as soon as the next packet from IB arrives). The backfill timestamps are 30 seconds out with 30 sec backfill ... I care.

876 seemed to be bug free and was available as a browser based TWS. It is not available browser based or standalone any more. 875 down to 872.6 all incorrectly time stamp backfill data so if you rely on backfill 875 is next to useless. 877 screws up during execution of futures orders...

Its not full sized ... its part sized. Until the mini came out we regarded the SGX option as the "mini" (see my earlier post). Re the indexes. A very reliable source tells me that IB offers what the Asian exchanges provide for them (they don't construct any composites) so WYS is What IB got.

Excellent. And it works with Sierra Chart as well. At the very least it will provide competitive pressure for IB to stay as good as they can. :)

Lots of us have experience with other futures brokers. I have at least 4 that come to mind immediately. Strangely after that experience we end up satisfied with IB. Funny that.

Positively relaxed filter_sweep. If you want the trend entries you may need to drop to a lower timeframe for your retracements. Compare its volume with the other three Nk options tradestar and you'll see where everyone else is trading.

The size order goes: N225 1000*10 y SGXNK 500*5 y N225M 100*5 y So IB offers a really nice set of choices ... but don't forget STW and SPI :)

Look at STW and SPI as well. Nicer behaviour even than the NK and reasonably priced (STW 10 per point, SPI 20 per point). I am thinking about dropping HSI for these two now that its gone from a bit wild to toxically behaved.
