The dsl box is using an ADSL modulation scheme back to the exchange. This is completely different to the raw 100b or 1000b? running from your pc to the box. Just use phone wiring.

Sounds like you havent got TWS set up right at present. Try looking under Config / Order defaults for problems.

As jj said. Short term has greater potential for profit simply because you can take X% risks much more frequently. But the shorter decision making timeframes demand a lot more from the trader. If you can't give it then you won't get it.

It seems strange to me that you should dismiss trends within the daily activity so quickly. I've traded the same style on eurofx, hsi, nikkei, spi, stw and eur.jpy and in each case I can identify a probable trend long enough to profit from it (when wrong I take a smaller loss). The same...

I'm with pp ... you just leave it in the currency it accumulates in until its a large number. Then you can settle it with idealpro (same commission but a better spread). Just the same as trading futures that are denominated in something other than your base currency. No biggy.

Magna, Can I suggest you PM def and Dav with this issue (point them at the thread). I did this a few days back regarding a problem where 879 was losing connection with the backfill server and I am assured that the programmers are working to resolve this problem while you trade :)

shliang, In the absence of a name perhaps you could pm def the details of your trades (audit reports, fault numbers, anything????). If you really have no tracking information then you might want to save it next time.

There is if your broker sets up something like that in their computer system. Interactive Brokers have such contingent orders.

def, I also wonder if instead of using stop orders they could use stop limits with a limit 100 points from the stop ... what's the max? That way they truly control their own destiny???
