TA - same on different timeframes?

Without getting into a boring argument I will simply have to disagree. But if we all agreed then there wouldn't be any money to be made in this game.

    Zen, Yoga, Meditation and Trading

You misunderstand my saying "you" screwed things up. Take it more in the sense that "what happened to you" and possibly also "what you did when it happened to you" changed things in your brain. Plasticity in this sense means changeable ... more flubber than bakelite. Negativity is fine...

TA - same on different timeframes?

Glad to hear they don't work ... god forbid that anyone else would figure out that they do (oops .. I didn't say that). <img src="http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1231300">

    Consider or not overnight data?

Build a strategy that works for one or the other ... and then trade it. Lots of gap based strategies are effective in the US markets and for those you need to ignore the overnight data.

    Zen, Yoga, Meditation and Trading

Go into the magazine shop and scan the article. One point is that the mind is plastic. This is good and (maybe in ur case was) bad. You may have screwed up the clusters in your brain that are strengthened by meditation. You may also, as I think u suggest, have created a new cluster that...

    Zen, Yoga, Meditation and Trading

I suspect that the focus issue is mainly that your mind is not yet strong enough. The latest (Oct 06 here in aus) Psych Today has an interesting article on that.

By U Silananda (first reference below) SITTING MEDITATION: VIPASSANA To begin your meditation, please be seated in a comfortable posture, preferably in cross-legged position, and keep the upper portion of your body erect, but not stiff or tense. One of the two kinds of cross-legged...

Hour of ES Futures on Interactivebrokers

LOL One of the great things about ET is it doesn't matter how green you are you can still be a total prick :) Arrive one day. Ask a stupid question (proving anyone can pass IB's test). Don't understand the answer. Insult those trying to help. ROTFLMAO ... ain't free speech great.

    How did you become consistant?

No, Bitstream is incorrect. Although its interesting to learn how to read the tape it may be a mistake to do so when either swing or intradayswing trading. If it distracts you from your main setup and exits (or confuses you) then its the same as adding extra indicators --- its bad. IFF...

Beware - critical flaw in IB Ideal Pro

What really sucks is your boring whinging. One moment you're whinging about MB, the next about IB. Why don't you do everyone a favour and leave IB. Make the choice; you don't like the service, the model - be a man and just f' off somewhere else. :D :p :D

    How did you become consistant?

discrat, I don't believe that anyone thinks that the issue for Cash is whether he day trades, swing trades or invests. For each his own. The issue is that he has shown himself to be all over the place. He keeps asking similar questions and shows little sign of getting it. But, as with...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

Thanks. It was an interesting thread. Nice to have one that wasn't half-cocked and to see that you got the resolution you wanted.

Ramblings on emotions and trading ...

Gutsy, Sounds like you may have the "issue" nailed. There are a couple of things you might do in the mean time other than trading thru it that could make it much easier to start trading again when you've improved the symptoms. 1) Work on the trading plan ... doing all the stuff Maverick...

    Windows Backup

So is the best approach gnome (seeking a good strategy for myself)? Periodically make an identical image on a spare hard drive (and verify). More frequently, clone the drive to DVDs When a failure occurs - swap in the verified hard drive or restore image from it (are both ok solutions?)...

    Windows Backup

If concerned about image reliability. Why not make an image to optical media. Then verify it on your spare disk (maybe have a spare copy in case it gets hit by alpha particles). Then save it for restoration. For the next 3-12 months just make clones to either media. Then repeat this...

    Windows Backup

If you're going to back "everything" up then you'd be better using something that copies the entire disk so you can simply replace everything including Windows later if a problem occurs. Ghost type programs.
