One of the major problems with forums over the years is that you can't easily quote a portion of a person's post unless you quote the entire post first and then manually edit that quoted post down in the post editor to reflect only the sentence or two that you really wanted to respond to. Well...

All you have to do is click on a member's username and it will tell you when their registration date was.

I'll work on fixing the homepage so that threads from ignored users don't show up. But even if you do stumble across one in the meantime, then I recommend you just click the back button for time being and move on to reading another thread as BSAM suggested.

So my question still stands? For the "someone else" you mentioned, who exactly IS THAT PERSON? See, the point I'm trying to make is that you and I simply don't know because that person is hiding behind a username. But the person or business that guy would be bashing is certainly not anonymous...

Ok, bidwell. Let me clarify then. Out of 440 posts, roughly 400 of them were negative about TastyTrade. Aside from the handful you mentioned from 5 years ago of course. :rolleyes:

bidwell, your thoughts are appreciated but you're getting off track. It's not about whether you're allowed to criticize someone. It's about if you're criticism makes you sound like a broken record. If the only thing a person aims to accomplish on ET is the relentless bashing of another person or...

No, criticism is fine when done in a reasonable and sensible way. It's when criticism of a person or business becomes the sole reason you are here that will eventually create a problem.

It doesn't work like that. Many of his posts were replies to others or vice versa. I can't just delete his posts and leave all those other posts up because the thread would make no sense due to so many posts having no context. Besides, I don't have the time nor the desire to manually pick...

Do you mean you can mentally put him on ignore? Because we actually have an ignore function so that his threads and posts won't show up. Click on his username in one of his posts and then click "Ignore" in the pop-up window that follows.

Based on searches that I've done, I think that sorting by "Most Recent" is a better default than relevance anyway, so I changed it.
