Bridgewater’s Ray Dalio Softens Stance on Bitcoin, Says It Has Place in Investors’ Portfolios

I'm from Norway. And I fully appreciate that not every country is equal in terms of economy, resources and government policies. And as such - I can understand why someone would want to rely on some other currency or market than their domestic currency/market. That said... Didn't Bitcoin...

Bridgewater’s Ray Dalio Softens Stance on Bitcoin, Says It Has Place in Investors’ Portfolios

I'll have to think on that for a bit. But the short answer would be that I'd need to see some kind of utility/purpose for it that I can't currently get elsewhere. Right now, I fail to see what that could be? How can it benefit me or society as a whole? Is it not true that some services who...

Bridgewater’s Ray Dalio Softens Stance on Bitcoin, Says It Has Place in Investors’ Portfolios

Highly likely? Really? I fail to see how Bitcoin mining is anything other than a waste of energy and resources. One word: Control. Isn't that precisely one of the main arguments for Bitcoin? I.e., a currency that governments can't control or influence? If you fail to grasp that, then...

Bridgewater’s Ray Dalio Softens Stance on Bitcoin, Says It Has Place in Investors’ Portfolios

How so? Not really. Perhaps. I'm not really knowledgeable in this area and didn't parrot anyone. It's just common sense from my point of view. I would 10/10 times own fiat currency issued by the US Government or any other developed country over BTC if I had to choose either. But I wouldn't...

Bridgewater’s Ray Dalio Softens Stance on Bitcoin, Says It Has Place in Investors’ Portfolios

Since when is Dalio's opinion or any of those other mentioned gospel? Bitcoin have no inherent value. The crypto crowd claims that can be said about fiat currency, too. The difference is that a fiat currency is backed by the country who issues that currency. What is a Bitcoin backed by...

    The S&P 500 topped at 3481

Why? Are your calls 100 % technical or do you blend it with some kind of fundamental analysis too? Thanks and good luck. :)

    Fundseeder?

Thanks for all comments. With IB being the only current viable alternative for me as a (happy) Ninjatrader user, I'll probably take a pass. Manually importing data does not seem worthwhile - both as it will be time consuming and the account won't be 'verified' anyhow.

    MES Journal - 2020 Dec

You sure have an interesting background. If these are decades ago - what happened between all that and now? I know NoDoji shared an example of her spreadsheet. Try to search for the threads she started. If you can't find it, I think I have it archived somewhere on another computer. But the...

    Question regarding Brooks' book

And you know for a fact that these people are doing 'pretty well'? You'd be wise to not trust everything you hear or read. Regardless, you'll find your answers in back-checking/back-testing and finally forward testing said methodology in your chosen market (s). What a lot of these educators do...

    MES Journal - 2020 Dec

Don't. If you actually want help - I suggest you give us all an introduction about yourself and your current methodology, market experience, expectations and so on. The brutal truth is that successful/consistent trading requires expertise. This takes a long time to acquire and by the time...

    MES Journal - 2020 Dec

Well, the initial observation is that you're hoping to breakeven and currently reading a book on the side which you hope will help you. Don't you see the folly here yourself? The sensible thing to do would be to finish reading that book first and put live trading on hold until you've learned...

    MES Journal - 2020 Dec

I can tell from your opening post that this will not work out. Why do you think or expect to consistently make money?

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Accurate observation. Just endless quarreling and music videos. When was this journal or ET at large ever anything else?

Proof that scalpers can make money

Respectfully, as always, here's my two or three cents. :) Unless I missed it, I don't believe anyone asked you to prove anything. You created this thread on your own volition where you wanted to prove scalping is profitable. Yet, your proof is lacking. I think if you wanted to actually prove...

Monday bullish and Friday bearish in the stock indexes?

If you only look at daily net change - it's actually Monday's which are slightly negative on average. This is for the last 15 years on ES. The largest day down (16th of March this year) over this time period was also on a Monday. - 11,71 %. 4 of the 10 greatest days down also occurred on a...

    Market Internals

Got it. I imagine the European indices and ES track each other fairly well in the European session. I use a lot of statistics and non-chart based data for my trading which is built on the RTH template, so I couldn't easily just start trading the European session as that would mean 'charts...

    Market Internals

Same issue here. An ever growing to-do list. Once you start researching - it just never seems to end. That's why a lot of stuff just needs to be archived in the long-term to-do list and only the most critical things are prioritized. I'm very glad the bulk of my system is complete. Not sure I'd...

    Market Internals

Well, at 1 you at least had a good scalp entry and at 2 you could easily scratch it. So, not too shabby, IMO. Then again, I already said I'm not trading this in isolation and will at best use it as a supporting parameter which adds confidence to other stuff I'm already using. But since that...
