To piggy back what Xela posted, if you're looking for reversals, ideally you want sizable gains when you are right and a close leash when you are not. And yes, reversals occur in both directions.

People who trade for a living are not so much interested in textbook academic discussions but with practical application. Draw them how you feel they do you the most good but I will caution about the need to be right in this field.

As a long time retail discretionary trader, I don't care what the "big players" say. I have no interest in running a fund nor working for one nor how they run them.

We recognize trend lines to identify areas of support and resistance. The angle is not the issue, support and resistance are the issues. Zela and comagnum are pointing out that horizontal lines can represent strong areas of S&R.

I would say that's closer but it's still extrapolated off of closed accounts. I blew up three before I started to be consistent and I doubt I am unusual.

I only take technical trades. I'm not smart enough to figure out the meaning of life everytime I take a position. As to overnight risk, it's a bull market 'till it ain't.
