    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Good ranges to play now. I see various plays for tomorrow, but I'm thinking either 3845 or 3750/30.

Missed the HOD by 6 ticks. :banghead: Maybe if I start using tick data, I can improve my accuracy. More work needs to be done...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Volatile. I captured a piece of that pop and 2 subsequent longs on the pullback. Flat and watching now. 3810/3825 appears to be the obvious move, but it's hard to say if we'll see a pullback to 3750 first. So I don't feel like entering a long right now as volatile as this is ATM.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Pretty good probabilities for an "Up Day" and a positive close today. First half hour could be a pullback, though, so 3750 would be a gift to go long. I don't think we'll trade below yesterday's LOD (3723,25). Targets above would be 3810 / 3825. I will change my mind on heavy selling /...

    Anyone find market profile useful?

Subscribed. I liked Daltons books and his accurate description of the market place as a continuous two-way auction. He also differentiated between various market sessions/day types where I've done something similar in my own private research. I don't use MP myself, but it's one of the things I...

3 % down here. Potential reversal area. Hands off for me as this could easily swing both ways.

There's blood in the streets... :) 3700 by the Close?

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

I'm no expert, but the way I usually handle this situation is by bracket orders. So, if I'm looking to buy, I'm putting in a limit at my desired level, but also holding a stop above market which will get triggered in case my limit is not. It can at times lead to bad fills in the event of a...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Stopped for + 23. Should be interesting to see if my last stop @ 77,50 would have lasted to the Close, but I've given back too much money on similar trades, so figured it was best to bank some. Right now, we're in a bit more uncertain place. I knew we could pull back to 3783 where we reversed...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Free ride from here. We could see a second leg down for a test of the LOD, but I think we can trade quite easily to 3825 from here by the Close. Should be fun to see. Willing to risk some house money here. EDIT: Stop @ 86,50. Not interested in sitting through a pullback.

Filled on 62. Out B/E. But re-entered. Will take 10 points off here if stopped, but primarily looking for a big move higher.

F**k me. Too greedy on that entry. Still in market. Going long on a second test of the LOD. A trend day down is of course possible...

Buy limit @ 62. Should stop this. ;) 5 point stop.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Strong momentum to the down. 10 points in 20 seconds kind of action. I'm side-lined and stalking a long. If we go as low as 3760 - I'm a strong buyer.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Target above would be 3824. If all hell breaks loose, we still have that open gap below @ 3761.75.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

I'm betting on a good swing higher from here, but can't rule out a pullback on the Open. So, either gap down and go (up) or a pullback before a good leg up.

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

It seems like many top calls often are a tad too early. Seasonality does however set up the possibillity of a dip in February. :)

anyone trading Brooks or studying him

Not really. What Al Brooks teaches is only a very small sub-set of the vast field known as technical analysis. Here, I define TA as any methodology which uses past prices to make trading decisions, whether that's through charts, statistics only, predictions and what have you.

anyone trading Brooks or studying him

Why is it not necessary? Regardless, the point was that if Al claims (only an example) that a specific set-up works 80 % of the time, you can't trust that as he does not seem to have actually computed the numbers. Well, I specifically said that this advice would relate to everyone else, too...

anyone trading Brooks or studying him

Check out this, OP. NoDoji was very much into Al Brooks, I think, but her own trading plan was designed from her backtested data. Your problem seems to be that you're a believer. You believe in Al Brooks because what he says makes sense or because he seems like an expert. Never do that with...
