    ES Journal - 2021/2022

That's because everyone bought the low on Sunday's Open and took the week off. :)

3845 is calling... The market is back in bull-mode. At this point - I'd be slightly surprised to not see new ATHs by end of week and maybe as soon as tomorrow? But you never know, do you... :)

    Lessons from a failed trader

Thanks for sharing. As an outsider I'm always interested in hearing from those with industry experience. FWIW, I don't think there should be many down days as a day trader. At least - they should be small.

Impressive back-ground. Would you care to elaborate on that part regarding models? Day trading? What kind of products? Thanks.

Are we still crashing? Seen the Top? 2/1/21

I think a lot of people were caught with their pants down expecting continuation from last week. While I knew a leg lower (and it can still happen) was possible this week, I also knew that the chances of not trading below last week's low was decent, too. We can easily print new ATHs this week...

    DeepFuckingValue refuses to bank profits

It was a good run. Wasn't the idea to capitalize on a short squeeze which from what I understand is over? Or is he anticipating a new squeeze?

Futures Challenge Sub 2k account to 20k and then quit job?

1.593K to 5K is 68 points/273 ticks gross. So, if your goal is to take a few ticks per day, you'll not reach your 5K goal until well into next year. I don't think going for a few ticks is a good idea for a multitude of reasons. Best advice given to you is to trade 1 MES at most. Did you look...

First + 2 % day this year if we clear 3780. It can happen...

I know the feeling. However, it's just a feeling. But sure. Makes you wonder if this market ever will go down... Even after today's strong up we can still see a move lower later in the week, though.

Some potential resistance @ 73/74, but probably not going to do much. Not the best entry, but I got lucky today. I knew a squeeze could come if we did not trade lower. Went long pre-running the break above the HOD.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

NQ filled gap above an hour ago. ES lagging, but should at least see a pop above 70 now. Hopefully 80. I'm curious if we could trade even higher than that on the day? An Inside Day would be disappointing...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Probably a lot of shorts who were expecting a crash lower today with continuation from Friday. Would make for a good squeeze on the day. 75-80. Then maybe lower later this week. Tricky game, this. :)

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Definitely possible. We've had days like this which reversed hard - but they are less likely the longer spend above 3740/45. A new HOD seems like the most likely play now... How bearish are you by the way? A 10-15 % correction or more?

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Definitely a strong push higher here. We could see 75/80 from here, unless this is an Inside Day. However, in such volatility, it's easy to see UP and only think UP. But that UP can be part of today's bigger DOWN. :) If lower on the day, though, I imagine we shouldn't go much higher than...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Sold 40. Stopped out B/E. Let's see if that was a mistake. :) I'm kind of bullish here, but don't like the R/R, so taking a pass right now. Maybe a breakout long from 30/32 on a pullback. Shit can still hit the fan to the downside...

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Yes. Or a V-bottom. Flat and watching. Ready to short below 40. Long above 45/50. Tricky morning (for me at least). Could see 70-80 to the upside. 3705/3690 below. Slight bullish bias for me now, but not a strong one. Mixed picture...

    Lessons from a failed trader

Yes. A classic for me is being right, but too early. In day trading you need excellent timing/patience. Almost good enough won't cut it. Last week I had a few textbook trades where I waited until things lined up perfectly and then entered without any prior mistakes to pay for (and end up...

    Lessons from a failed trader

Thanks! :) Currently, I'm profitable about 80 % of all trading days, but I still make mistakes and have sticking points to address. I had one trading day a few weeks back where I gave back a lot of my profits so far this year. Last fall, I had over 15 winning days in a row, scaled up, lost all...

36.2 % on my total account balance. If you trade in a liquid market (ES) and use mostly limit orders, a day trading strategy is fairly scaleable. That's nice. Did you ever read Market Wizards? Comparing Ren Tech which manages billions and a retail trader isn't a fair comparison. But I...

    Lessons from a failed trader

I was up 36.2 % net last week day trading only the RTH Open on most days, i.e., 90-120 minutes and I'm a mediocre day trader. Am I able to do that consistently? Not yet. Maybe never. We'll see. But there's no reason anyone would or should pursue day trading unless they can get a very, very...
