The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

This is the account I traded. Note how they say that you get 100% of the first 8K. Seems pretty straightforward to me. What they fail to mention, although it's hidden in fine print somewhere else, is that you first need to earn a $5K cushion in order to be allowed to withdraw. So, in truth you...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

Thank you, @JSOP. In fact, I've been giving the very same advice myself to others on these threads. :) I was pretty much convinced that these companies weren't worthwhile prior to this, but some trader told me in private how he allegedly had made $$$ with these companies to fund his private...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I'm not sure why you bring up C2 in this thread or as a reply to the post you quoted. I never compared TST and C2. Actually, I'm not really complaining it. I just added it as further proof that they're not really interested in funding a successful trader as they eliminated my account on their...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

There's never any trading 'against these funded programs'. If / when trading on the simulator the fills are subject to the simulator on Ninjatrader which I'd say is fairly (very?) realistic. There's no cheating in that regards. Most who try this ain't good enough to pass those programs anyhow...

You got that right. I'm not sure why you're defending these companies? Respectfully, you seem to continue missing the point. It's not about not accepting that there are rules to follow. It's about how these companies don't truly have any interest in having you as a funded trader to begin...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

Which is the only rule that should matter. I NEVER exceeded my daily drawdown rule. I made $$$ 19/20 days. My original post stands on its own. I merely added my own experience showing how they liquidated a winning account - something which doesn't make sense if they were truly interested in...

No more Live Trailing Drawdown on Earn2Trade?

So, you're making it easier and more attractive to get funded, but as soon as a trader is funded you're making it difficult for him? You should make sure to mention in bold letters that this rule only applies to simulated accounts.

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

On the subject of MES Capital they actually got quite rude when I was talking to them after the account was eliminated. They went on to accuse me of FIVE prior rule breaks and having held overnight one more time earlier (and on a date where I was not yet funded). I told them this was not...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

Thanks for the heads up. I've known about C2 for a long time and never knew it was something to seriously consider. But as someone actually recently recommended it to me I figured I could ask. Seeing the answers I received on the subject it does not seem like something to move forward with.

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I couldn't find it in fine print the last time I took a look, but I'm very confident that new traders on OneUp is indeed trading simulator money. The contract also states that they can freely shift traders between a simulator and a live account. If I use my own account as an example they...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I wouldn't say I'm whining, but I don't see why I'd give these companies a free pass considering my impression of these companies as a whole and finally my own personal experience with one of them liquidating an account which was making money and acting rude and condescending to me afterwards...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

As I found myself in a life situation where I didn't want to risk my own capital, but at the same time wanted to stay in the game and practice, I decided to actually try my luck with OneUp / MES Capital a few weeks ago. Long story short, I passed the evaluation within the 15 days required...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

...is that they're not really interested in funding and cultivating successful traders. I'm convinced that having to deal with funding a trader is more of a nuisance to them than something they actually want. The proof is in the pudding. When these programs were initially launched years back...

No more Live Trailing Drawdown on Earn2Trade?

Yikes. What's the use of implementing and endorsing a new rule - only to have it apply for the evaluation account?

Collective2 - Any experience with this as a signal provider?

Thank you for that detailed and informative reply, Bad_Badness. I understand. If my main interest is a track record and tracking performance - can I filter based on my own live account only?

Collective2 - Any experience with this as a signal provider?

I'm not sure what QTrader's angle or agenda is. This thread specifically asked about people's experience with Collective2 with two motivations outlined: a) additional income; b) establishing a track record. Doesn't look like I really need subscribers either. :) If someone wants to prove their...

Collective2 - Any experience with this as a signal provider?

Well, if they reflect the subscribers accounts I don't see how that would serve as a valid track record for my personal trading. Especially considering what @Bad_Badness reported above.

Collective2 - Any experience with this as a signal provider?

This got me confused. I thought C2 would simply mirror or report the actual executed trades/executions in my main account? As I understand it, pending limit or market orders are not reported. Yes. I imagine it won't be valuable or profitable for someone to follow a day trader who's quickly...

Collective2 - Any experience with this as a signal provider?

And would Collective2 do this accurately and be one which external parties would trust/recognize? I'm just as much interested in this feature as in selling signals. I'm very happy with Ninjatrader / Dorman as a broker, but they only submit paper statements, daily, monthly and yearly. There's...
