So, it was most likely scenario 1). A quick 27,25 points on the Open. Most likely we'll just range around today for an Inside Day. That's what I see now. :)

Regardless of the talking heads - it's very unlikely we'll trade above 4005 today. Main scenarios would be: 1) Inside Day mostly moving higher, i.e., a positive consolidation day 2) Continuation lower below 3920. Waiting for price to confirm.

3920 could trigger a reaction, so that warrants some caution. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3900 today, though.

A substantial amount of volume in ES futures comes from HFT firms essentially making markets. So, surely there are market makers on the ES futures?

Dip buyers still getting creamed, but there's no buy signal, yet. I used to try and pick a bottom on trend days. Now I know better. :)

Personally, I wouldn't so easily dismiss what he said in that quote. I know several persons of interest who've said similar things or suggested other instruments than ES for (day) trading. Another guy I've spoken to personally never was able to make ES work for him, but is making a fortune...

Reversed at last week's range low. Needs to put in a higher low now for any trend reversal. I don't think that's going to happen, but it is one possibillity. No need to get locked down too hard on a bias.

Needs to breakout higher and/or put in a higher low on a pullback for any trend reversal consideration, IMO. For now, it looks like a pullback to me. 3941 is last week's RTH low. Looking to see if we can trade back inside last week's range from here or not.

Bidless market. No need to be a hero until we see a trend reversal. I don't see this stopping until 3900 today. Obviously, scratch that call on a trend reversal, but this is a trend day down for now and it's usually not profitable to try and capture a bottom on those.
