Cotton tops $1/lb; clothing, textile mills pinched

A 1 dollar bill (actually any bill) weighs almost 1 gram. A bill is 75% cotton. Therefore $605 dollars in 1 dollar bills is worth 1 dollar (or 1 pound) of cotton. If the government wanted to pay off the 13 trillion dollar deficit with $100 bills, they would have to spend over 214 million...

    Is this excessive?

Good question. I ask myself..."would I take that job?" If I had to work on the streets chasing down criminals 8 hours per day...I think there is a good chance that $90k is not enough for me. If i was working at the station doing paperwork, then $90k is plenty for me. Spending my time with...

Out of all the kids that do get vaccinated 20% get a side effect that is similar to a mild case of measles. Great Observation from Wal-Mart's CEO

You gotta love the fact that she is drinking bottled water with that. Maybe because she is on a diet. Dont want to add another 250 calories when you are wolfing down 12,000.

    Great Observation from Wal-Mart's CEO

What is ironic is that all that all that work that was shipped to china so that americans could save a few bucks on products, yet if you look at walmart customers, they look poorer & more miserable than the chinese people working in the factories for 65 cents per hour. I thought we are supposed...

Would Jesus be a Liberal or Conservative

Jesus would check the box "Other" and write in "My Father in Heaven" He would also tell people to give their money to social programs, but tell people receiving social programs to get off their ass and go work. (Of course neither side would listen though)

Bill gates: will not pass down fortune to children.

I find it very hypocritical that a man like him spends his whole life attaining wealth through capitalism, and at times playing dirty to maintain that wealth sometimes putting someone else out of business, then say at the end of his life he wants that wealth spread around like a socialist...

    Silver looks ready to rip

680k ounces or 28 metric tons of silver. This is almost as much silver as the conquistadors used to send to spain/france when they first came to America in the 15th century. (they used to send ships carrying 20-40 tons of silver with each trip) Kind of funny how history repeats itself and...

    Cotton above $1

Its kind of a paradox that you can buy cotton with cotton which pushes up the price of cotton but it doesnt matter because you are paying for it with cotton.
