One giant mortgage crisis wasn't enough

This is incorrect... The mtge industry, including the banks, would love the public to believe this, but there's all sorts of evidence to the contrary. The banks and their lobbyists have pulled out all the stops to shift the blame for the crisis onto anyone but the banking industry.

I don't see why your interpretation is so asymmetric... Why doesn't his mention of withdrawal of accommodation reinforce the opposite, which has also been raised as a possibility? Again, I don't see the reason why we would use such an asymmetric interpretation, given that the comments were...

    Global Macro Trading Journal

I don't get this at all... I thought the statement was extremely balanced and he basically didn't say anything that would indicate which way they're leaning. He said that they might offer more stimulus or they might move towards less accommodation.

    Short CHF vs. Short Gold?

It's somewhat correlated to gold, at least in the current regime, given it's driven, to some extent, by the same phenomenon. I have no idea what you mean when you talk about USDCHF.

Unless the Eurozone situation gets a lot worse, I still do honestly believe that they won't.

US hedge funds bet against Italian bonds

I would think not... Very hard to see correlation intra-day between such distinct asset classes.

No, they're not used in practice for vanilla(ish) options.

The Race to Default. Earliest defaulter Greece will receive best terms.

I don't remember exactly what my view was... I remember that I wanted to be optimistic on the future on the EMU (which I guess implies I was one of the "no Greek default" crowd, as you put it). However, with time I got more and more disillusioned with it. It appears that EUR and the EMU are...

Yep, looks about right and I am sure it's a function of liquidity preference, rather than looking for yield. So they're not carry munkies, which is sorta encouraging.

    Evolution debunked in 1 paragraph.

What do you mean "my comment"? Why do you have to bring a discussion about Betapeg's trades into this? What trades someone does and whether people agree with the motivation for these trades should have nothing to do with an off-topic discussion in a thread like this one...
