How to build a resume to work as a trader?

I would tend to agree with the above. That having been said, I would tend to stay away from trying to seek out a "trading" position as that is not the greatest way to obtain a position at an investment bank that makes you a ton of money over time. The fact of the matter is that there are...

    Something fishy with Goldman Sachs?

Q3 has been incredibly "slow" of the investment banks, including Goldman who made a small fortune on all of the underwriting for the commercial banks that needed to raise capital back in Q2. Fixed income trading volume declined in July and August, and both equity and debt underwriting volume...

Ken Fisher, Warren Buffett, Bill Miller...the best are now lost and confused

Excuse me, but hasn't the total returns of Bill Miller's fund outperformed the S&P for 15 years up until January 1st of 2006? Not bad for a fund manager that has watched his asset base grow to $20 Billion. We all should be so lucky.

    Time to buy oillllll.....

My guess is that you aren't even aware of the fact that the factories that have been shuttered in the 5 provinces surrounding ( and including ) Beijing will still be CLOSED DOWN for yet another month after the 29th Olympiad is over. Any guess why?

What is the significance on options expiration?

The most volatile day of the week of a Friday expiration tends to be Wednesday, while the actual expiration day sees big chunks of volume going off, with little price movement.

Former BSC banker, Harvard grad to teach cupcakes

You obviously have never lived/worked in Manhattan where the cost of living is through the roof and most married professional couples are BOTH working and simply don't have the free time to do as many fun things with their kids as they'd like. Get a clue.

Former BSC banker, Harvard grad to teach cupcakes

I bet her new enterprise lasts a helluva lot longer than some "piker" like you posting 7,000 times on ET and getting paid a nickel per post in order to keep this website afloat with "traffic". I also bet that she has made a fairly decent amount of money in the short-time that she worked on...

    Drilling Stocks

Could very well be completing 5 waves down in Crude Oil off of the contract highs. Nat-Gas traded 7.96 intra-day but just came back into green territory at 8.17 Time to do some "nibbling" in the drilling sector. ie.) DVN just finished a 4 handle "measured-move" down off of $99.04 at...

Boone Pickens' HF down 35% in July

Yep. Nat-Gas has crashed from $13.75 to as low as 7.96 intra-day today. A most volatile commodity that has a strong tendency to "over-shoot" either way.

This weekend Barron's recommending buying select energy names.

True, but it's important to observe how the market REACTS to news. That can be most telling.
