Would you say I drew this trend line the correct way?

I see you're omitting two swing high tails? Why is that? There's many ways to draw such a line and that just illustrates the subjective nature of this stuff. Solution? Work out some definite rules for how to draw them. I think this is how Victor Sperandeo suggested to do it for a down trend...

    trading isolation

When I was working in a corporate office environment, I would rush back home and have zero desire to interact with other human beings. Now that I'm working 100 % from home (remote work arrangement + full time trading) - it's the other way around. After a day of work I really just want to see...

    trading isolation

I only had 20 annoying co-workers and tolerated most of them. Hated only a few of them. The worst part was the mandatory lunch every day where you had to make conversation with people where the only common ground you had were being humans and working at the same company. :) I think the OP...

    trading isolation

That’s a very polarized black and white picture you’re painting. My commute was 5 minutes and I was not treated like dirt. Is that the standard in America? 90 minutes commute and you’re treated like dirt? :) While I didn’t like being employed - there’s something about actually leaving the...

Can Market Makers (bots) see your stop in ES/MES?

Is that me? How am I incorrect? It’s called the Limit Order Book. Only resting limit orders are visible. When the market is moving up or down you’re effectively watching market orders cross with resting limit orders. Stop orders become market orders only after they’re triggered. They are not...

    Joining the CME gang

That sucks, @hilmy83. You have not shared any specifics on strategy and I'm not even sure if you're interested in any feedback at all. But reading between the lines it seems like your basic strategy is scaling into trades. If you're right on the trade the pay-off is great as you're adding to...

    TA - the final answer...

My input data is 1-minute OHLC. That data is further sliced, diced and organized according to my own logic and further divided into various parameters and statistics. So, while the raw data is 1-minute OHLC which I agree have its limitations - there's much more data made available from those...

    Maintaining Self Discipline

I think it depends on what your aim is. If you're scalping for ticks - who cares about higher time frames? If you want to capture a larger move - you definitely need context and a big picture view as the 1-minute or even 5-minute will frequently give false signals. Thanks and likewise! :)

    Maintaining Self Discipline

Well, I use a 1-minute chart and a faster volume chart for my entries, but am of course aided by a framework which takes care of the big picture or major pattern for the day in play.

    TA - the final answer...

No, I don't think it necessarily needs to involve advanced math. While I know calculus - my model is based on simple math and parameters, although it took me many years to think through the logic. The point is that if you want to consistently take money out of the markets you need to do the...

    TA - the final answer...

I use a statistical model for prediction which is based on data and parameters, but not indicators. I know others do, too. This is technical analysis based on past prices, but not indicators or charts. I think indicators can be quite useful, but the ones I've talked to who built a profitable...

    That's simply not correct.

Can Market Makers (bots) see your stop in ES/MES?

Surely only limit orders show on the order book as resting orders, yes? Stops become market orders when triggered, i.e., price moving to the stop level. And at that point they're crossed with limit orders in the order book. I usually bracket my orders such that I have a stop above/below market...

    tape reading...

Market orders take liquidity and cross with limit orders which offers liquidity. Let's say you want to sell 1000 contracts at market. If there was unlimited liquidity at a given price level - the market would absorb all those market orders without any price impact. As that's generally not...

Can Market Makers (bots) see your stop in ES/MES?

FWIW - I generally only use disaster stops these days. Does not mean I will take that disaster stop. Haven't done so far. It's just there. I'll usually exit far sooner. This makes for more relaxing trading on my end. Tight stops only work if your entries are perfect. If they're not - work to...

Can Market Makers (bots) see your stop in ES/MES?

Trust me - one of the most liquid markets in the world does not care about your 2 contract stop. False breakouts are common on ES, so you'll often see a snap above/below a level and then a sharp reversal. You did NOT move the market down to 3198 today. LOL. Your question is interesting...

It's an excellent traders market for sure. The weeks ahead should be risky for longs, though.

Sluggish, indeed. I still think we're good for a run towards 3300 today as long as the LOD holds from here.
