    Welcome to the Recovery

Somethings never change. The white people are out working enjoying the American dream while the black people are out looking for handouts. (Dont try to call me racist because its not racist if its the truth)

Who are the idiots buying bonds for 1% interest?

because countries only have 3 things they can buy with their dollars. Oil, gold, or treasuries. If they buy oil, the price skyrockets and their economies tank. If they buy gold, just a single billion dollars into the gold market pushes prices up, so when they want to sell, they can expect the...

How much would you need if there is a collapse

Some people need more than others. If you want to keep a comfortable lifestyle with internet, cable tv, aircon and lots of steaks & lobsters and wine & beer, then about 100 oz of silver per month will probably get you by. If you are homeless & walking the streets with your tent and just need...

    "Desperate situation"

First time since 2002 they've given out applications for the Sec. 8 vouchers. I wonder how those people survive the last 8 years without section 8? And how lame is that saying "all these poor people suffered heat exhaustion in 90 degree weather." I just came back from the philippines where...

The Real People Who Post On Yahoo Finance Message Boards

At least on here you rarely have people who say "I just bought 100,000 shares of XYZ at <such & such a price>" and the price always being within 1 or 2 cents of the low of the day (i guess to make it sound more "realistic" rather than say they bought at the absolute low of the day.) Its...

HUD To Offer Interest-Free Loans To Distressed Homeowners

Sounds better than it actually is. Its only 50k interest free for 2years. So basically it only saves these people about $200 bucks per month. These people could save that much just by not eatting out as much.

Nuns, and Mary (Mother of Jesus)

Christ is supposed to be our inspiration. For a nun or priest or someone else to be "idolized" as inspiration would be breaking the 2nd commandment.

    Ramadan Mubarak! Happy Ramadan, Everybody!

I dont even know how they can call it fasting when its only from dawn to dusk. Thats nothing and no way a short fast like that could teach anyone about patience. Maybe they should try a 10 day water fast where they only drink water and eat nothing for 10 days. That will teach them patience...

`Buy and Bail' Homeowners Get Past Loan Restrictions

I Disagree...it has everything to do with ethics and morals despite the fact that it makes financial sense for them to walk away. If you sell me your car on credit and after a few months I see that the same car is selling for less than I owe you, it makes financial sense for me to stop paying...

    Salary Equivalent

You should really travel to some of these countries to see how people who make 1.25 per day live. When I was in the philippines, I talked to some homeless children who were beggers. They said they average about 15 pesos per day (about 30 cents) and that they only eat once per day. Somedays...

    Trouble buying dollars.

Oh dont get me started on travelers checks over there. Back in 2006 I tried to cash $1,000 worth of travelers checks at the bank. After 1 hour, they said they could not cash that much money, but they could cash $200 worth. I never used travelers checks again as it was so much of a hassle.

Bought Book Via Amazon, Shipped From India

Yeah, but sometimes when referring to 1 peso, they spell it Piso. Not sure why they do that. They also have centavos. I got lots of 25 centavo coins which is worth about half a cent in US money and I dont remember getting it in change, but I found a 5 centavo coin in my pocket one day which...

Bought Book Via Amazon, Shipped From India

In places like india and other countries in asia, there is alot of counterfeiting going on with books, just like with DVDs. They can print the books for a fraction of what it costs to print the same book here and sell it cheaper and not pay royalties to the author. I was at a mall last week in...

    Trouble buying dollars.

I recently returned to the US from the philippines and before I left I had 100k pesos I needed changing into dollars as they government will not let you leave the country with more than 10k. So I go to a bank near my hotel and ask if they can change my money into dollars. As I am white, the...

    Cities closing libraries, destroying books

Everyone tries to charge for the information on the internet though. At least at the library its free. And if you do want certain information and you pay for it on the internet, sometimes they only give you half the information and then try to sell you the other half later. I remember in the...

Investing sages: where can I putmy money for long term security?

I think your understanding of how a church works is waaaaaay off. First, you dont "invest" in a church, you give charity to it. People that give to the church feel happy about what they give, they feel peace and in general feel like they did something good. Generally most people that attend...

    Michelle Obama, Livin' Large

Obama "officially" took 26 vacation days his first year in office, but that doesnt count all the "celebrity" stuff he does, like going on the tonight show, or an appearance on the View, shooting magazine covers, ect. If you add in all the stuff where he is not doing official government...
