Some clown claims to have the Magic Stock Market Formula

sigh... I don't know exactly where you think these forums are, but if Tim was instrumental in getting them to this point then string him up. On the other hand, it is nice to have someone to blame.

Some clown claims to have the Magic Stock Market Formula

Although I have seen his named tossed about a great deal here on ET, I really have no idea who this Sykes guy, and, more importantly, I don't care. But I notice that threads about this guy are often started by people who claim not to like him (granted, the one-post OP on this thread is...

    ninja trader good or bad

Anton, I have heard many people speak very well of OpenQuant, but nearly all cite the lack of documentation as a serious concern. I'm a fair programmer and I would really like to take OQ for a spin. I believe I might not be hindered by some of the limitations I experience with...

    Zen-fire and future broker

As I mentioned I chose RCG because Dorman either didn't clear NYMEX products or they didn't offer NYMEX products with Zen-Fire (not sure which one, but it was all the same to me). I've heard people speak well of Dorman, but unfortunately I don't have any experience with them. I've never...

    Zen-fire and future broker

Mirus is an introducing broker, clearing through RCG or Dorman -- to my knowledge both outfits are solid. Mirus: http://www.nfa.futures.org/BasicNet/Details.aspx?entityid=0339976&rn=Y CTFC report Dec07: http://www.cftc.gov/files/tm/fcm/fcmdata1207.pdf P.S. If I thought there were a...

    Zen-fire and future broker

The Zen-Fire feed is super fast, but it's certainly not necessary for trading the e-minis. IB's feed, when it works, it fast enough. I'm not sure why you think Mirus/Ninja is expensive. Ninja is $60/month for the software (it's free until you execute live trades), but the Zen-Fire feed and...

    Prismatic Lenses?

It was suggested to me that I check out prismatic lenses for my regular prescription eyeglasses. They are supposed to reduce eyestrain considerably for those who spend long periods of time in front of a screen. Please note these are different from the rose-colored glasses that some in here...

what do 30 year T-Bond or 10 Year Note daytraders think about this?

You've been asking the same type of vague question for a year now -- have you actually made any decisions yet and started trading? I think you sincerely believe that some person on this board will magically reveal "the answer" to you someday. The answer is hard work -- it doesn't matter a...

    John is DEAD ??

I hate it when people say trading is gambling. Gambling is an attitude. You can bring that attitude to an activity -- trading, real estate investing, mountain climbing, or a thousand other things -- or not. Any time you engage in any activity with obviously adverse odds of success or...

The big question. How do i sort through the mess of the e-minis?

I'm curious why you think that the other markets I mentioned are not for "day trading". In fact, crude oil is a far, far better intraday market than any of the e-minis -- consistent volatility, liquid market, great daily range -- it has it all. The rest of the products I mentioned all have...

Question for those trading for a living

One of the downsides of self-employment is that lenders typically want to see two years of tax returns as proof of income (as opposed to showing a pay stub if you're in a regular job). It doesn't really matter whether you trade as an individual, LLC, s-corp., etc. If you have a corporate...

    Technical outlook on Crude

That is simply intraday noise (and opportunity) -- big boys shaking out the weak hands. These shake outs are regular behavior for crude. If you're trading it intraday, timing is just as important as prognostication. Three and four dollar daily ranges are not uncommon lately.
