Google Options Make Masseuse a Multimillionaire

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 11 Bonnie Brown was fresh from a nasty divorce in 1999, living with her sister and uncertain of her future. On a lark, she answered an ad for an in-house masseuse at Google, then a Silicon Valley start-up with 40 employees. She was offered the part-time job, which started...

Barton Biggs talks about big surge going into end of 2007..

Just like Rogers he's an investor, not a trader. Timing has never been their strength, I guess they're just whores to the media making these predictions so they get free airtime promoting their funds/books etc.

AAPL crashing.. this is really scary..

Oh of course we rallied because of the cut. But S27027 was saying that without the cut we'd trading at Dow 12000 (or whatever). That's about as astute as me saying "WITHOUT SUBPRIME WE'D BE TRADING AT DOW 16,000 NOW". That's all hubris. The cut is what it is and subprime is what it is. Any...

AAPL crashing.. this is really scary..

There were severe selloffs in many leading sectors in early/mid August. Depends on what you look at. Oils, Agricultural, Industrials, Mining/Commodities, Financials, REITs all got a solid hair cut. Tech fared a lot better back then. That's why everybody piled into it as a "safe haven" in...

Barton Biggs talks about big surge going into end of 2007..

Did you fade his August 15 call for a medium term bottom? Say what you will, I like Biggs a lot. His hedge fund Traxis Partners manages around $2bln, this guy is not a fluke. I can wholeheartedly recommend his book "Hedgehogging". Very interesting read, well worth the money and time.

Question about avoiding dividend tax for non-US investor.

Can somebody confirm this? Will this effectively STOP your broker deducting the withholding tax on US dividends or will it only enable you to "reclaim" those taxes paid in the US with your home tax authority?

Which broker is safe from subprime, BK risk these days?

How is security a pain? I have two accounts with IB and use 2 security PIN devices. Works perfectly. Nothing to complain about.

    E-Trade Going Under?

Buying a stock that is down 50% on the day just because its "down too much" is just as dumb and amateurish as shorting any of the momentum stuff that is "up too much".

    Punk Ziegel upgraded Goldman Sachs

Don't mess with Blanky. This guy is golfing every weekend with his old buddy Paulson exchanging a few piece of "vital mutually beneficial information" along the way. Old buddies go a long way, I wouldn't bet against Blankfein:

Its gonna get ugly this week

Yawn. If you were trading with real money you wouldn't be making such predictions.

New Year Fast Approaching: Bernanke = 2007 Jackass of the Year

So what's the solution for all the middle class Americans? Should the Fed jack up interest rates up 10%, so all homebuilders and lenders go bankrupt, so hell breaks lose in all industrials, so banks accumulate more bad debt? A sweet 2-3 years of recession with millions of jobs lost, forever...

New Year Fast Approaching: Bernanke = 2007 Jackass of the Year

Excuse me, but the dollar (and oil respectively) started their moves 4-5 years ago. It's not like this happened overnight.
