    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Well, we printed ATHs even prior to a vaccine. What you say makes sense if we are to use common sense. If we are to use common sense, I don't think the markets should be where they are now anyhow. There's a strong seasonality in play here on the last week of the year. While we have had down...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Flattened everything @ 48. Off to do something else now. I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see this swing above 3680 today, but I don't have a strong opinion. It's one of those n < 10 kind of days which by definition are a bit unpredictable. Stay safe and happy holidays. :)

Buy signals, but those pops keeps getting sold. Will probably know within the next 10 minutes.

A bottom or a consolidation? Internals are firming up a bit here. I think we're due at least a swing to 3650.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

20 point up swing done. I think we're making a run for 3677/68 where we'll either reverse or continue to rip higher.

Seasonality is strong for a positive week as well.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Mixed signals after reviewing my data. It seems unlikely we'll take out Friday's Low, but you never know... I think the key for the bulls is if we can hold last Week's RTH Low @ 3637,50. We'll probably see an initial rally which gets sold or we'll sell off initially and then rally later in the...

My initial thought is that this dip is a gift. No entries until RTH for me, though. :)

    MES Journal - 2020 Dec

There you have it. Back-testing/back-checking historical data in a systemic way is the way to go to start learning the market.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Got to be bullish ahead of this week. 3760 is the number I'm looking at. Might see a consolidation first on Monday/Tuesday - or not. It's quite possible we'll just gap up and drift higher into the holidays...

    ''Why did ES turn there?''

Knowing where a High or Low will form is useful, but it's the stuff in between that's hard, i.e., entering and exiting. For a big picture outlook on the day - I'm not convinced that order flow tools is of any value. I think that's more for scalping. And even for that - I'm not convinced. Last...

    ''Why did ES turn there?''

Interesting. That level was automatically plotted on my charts for that day. Accurately, it was 3703,25.

    Midnight rally

That was quite the up swing in the last 30 minutes for sure. Might have been Op-Ex related. Statistically, the odds of Friday's last major swing being up is about 63 %. So that's a small edge right there.

    Data Modeling and Forecasting Swings

If you want to improve your model - I think continuously updating your model as the day/week progress should help. This makes sense as any prediction should be based on what you know now at the time of the prediction. As time progresses you should be able to confirm if the market is tracking...

CME Micro Fees Going Up Already! 10 cents a RT! 2021

Be a man and trade the full contract. The micros really aren't viable for scalping, but for low frequency trading or swing trading, they're fine. Is the daily volume of ES really any lower? Looks fairly consistent to me over the last 10 years and far greater than early 2000. I was not even...

    Meet the anti-crypto crowd

What I also notice is that those who are pro-crypto seem to be very gullible, i.e., they are unwavering in their optimism and simply can't seem to be critical. Not a good sign. I know a few people personally who don't have a lot of faith in crypto, but have a small stake as a 'lottery ticket'.

What else to learn in technical analysis apart from indicators ?

Best advice so far in the thread. Most retail traders fail. But for those who don't - I wonder what's the minimum time a lone successful retail trader spent before achieving success? I don't imagine anyone doing it in less than 3 years and that's a minimum. If you have a mentor or are hired by...
