That's not what's being discussed here, @SimpleMeLike. @hilmy83 states that because a random function resembles a price chart then a price chart is random as well.

LOL. And where were you all day? I caught a small piece of that. Stopped while taking a shower before heading out. Can't sit around all day waiting for it to hit target.

It's not. I don't look at those shapes in the clouds or traditional technical analyis.

Unless someone steps up at 4K and sells it again, I'm sure we'll see 4020 today.

By the way, as you seem to be interested in quantitative trading, please check out this old two part articles series. It was a good primer for me back in the day for a way to trade without charts. Some good stuff here, IMO. Maybe you'll find the time to do a back-test for the most recent years...

So, because a random function can resemble a price chart your assumption is that a price chart is random as well? I would question that assumption. Further, I would add that I'm sure quantitative traders doesn't rely on charts/chart formations for their predictions. They could do, of course...

Hard to know how greedy to be if one is long here. We should get that 4003 print. Could be smart to take profits there and call it a day. But I have to say I'm wondering if we'd see that 4030 tag today...? I'm thinking the key is to see how the market reacts if we get another push above 4K...

Gap fill imminent just above 4003. Curious if that caps it or if there's more juice in this today. Trend day potential here.

85/87 is a potential reversal area and we're working that one now for at least a pullback, but I'm thinking higher from here.

Is there a good calendar for tracking the exact time/date for such releases? I keep track of news in my economic calendar, but it doesn't contain earnings which we've seen this year can move the indices. Thank you.

Interesting. FWIW, I just stopped out of a long on a trailing stop. I was sure we'd see 30 today. And we still might. We are however in a potential sell zone here for the big boys. Unless we can trade quickly back above 4K, I'd say this is looking like an actual reversal and not a retrace.

Overnight high at 21.50. I don't see why we won't trade there at this rate and probably overshoot it to run some stops. Not much higher after that to fill the gap at 29. And still well within average ranges and % change. Buckle up, boys. :)

Sorry about that. Could still be a turning point around 30, though.
