    1x2 put spread strategy

Hahaha, famous last words, these... Many things are possible with put (payer) skew in US rates.

Thank Olli Rehn and Jean Claude...

Seems odd this is legal and this blantant..

Well, my point beyond that is that a) we clearly like our mkts free, but not too free; b) a natural question arises: who's going to determine which regulation/govt interference is good and which isn't?

Seems odd this is legal and this blantant..

Well, that's precisely my point... Doesn't protecting the weak, poor and desperate in this manner constitute mkt manipulation, regulation, etc and as such makes mkts not free. If we believe that usury laws are actually good, does that mean that some regulation, mkt manipulation and govt...

Seems odd this is legal and this blantant..

Awwww, my friend, where have you been? I really do wish you could stick arnd, so that you and I could have a discussion. I will take your review of my intentionally provocative comment as a compliment. Suppose we have free, unregulated mkts, just as you describe? So no govt backstops, no...

    1x2 put spread strategy

In my neck of the woods, the term used exclusively is 1x2,...,AxB call/put spread.

anybody plays options on futures? Bloombrg: how to download and organize data?

Why don't you start with the closes first? Also, just how far back in history are you intending to go?

    FED manipulating markets via

Only one thing I don't understand... Fine, the OP has made his/her views abundantly clear and some agree, while others don't. But why, oh why, is it necessary to create thread after thread after thread to keep saying the same thing again and again?

Seems odd this is legal and this blantant..

Funny, but I don't quite see what the issue is. I thought we in the West like free, unregulated mkts in all their manifestations?

anybody plays options on futures? Bloombrg: how to download and organize data?

There are many ways of doing it. All of them involve doing some work and depend on what exactly you're trying to achieve.

    Interest rate is 10%

Yo, Mods, do you think maybe it's time to do smth about this? Would be good to enforce non-proliferation of incoherent mkt manipulation/conspiracy threads, all started by the same coconut... Just a suggestion, is all.

    FED manipulating markets via

Oh no, not another one of these, please... I implore you, please stop, for sanity's sake.

Bloomberg has no historical option chain?

Of course it has the historical data for downloading. As long as the option's underlying is still valid in BBG, you can download the historical data for options on that underlying. Problem is that, unfortunately, BBG doesn't keep the underlying ticker valid for too long. Hence my previous post.

I don't see this as a foregone conclusion, so I would have to disagree...

    Interest of Bonds?

Oh no! Pls tell me you didn't just say this... You need to think about what you're doing a little bit more, it appears.

Bloomberg has no historical option chain?

Depends on how historical you wanna get... As long as the underlying is still valid in BBG, you can get the options for it. However, the underlying, once it's matured, doesn't stick arnd for too long.

    Interest of Bonds?

I think these qualify as the most famous last words out there.

Correction, they have each other by the balls. US's grip is, arguably, a bit stronger.

    Strike price difference

I don't know about stocks, but for stuff like Eurodollars/trsy futs, the settlement px for an option might have nothing to do with either bid/ask px or last trade px.
