    I keep getting assigned MARA!

No this is pretty much the way the accumulation phase looks for me :) I was probably a bit early, but I got paid well for the 23 put due to earnings. I should be able to get .80 for a 21 call which would bring down my break even to 20.59. I would rather keep the shares so I will have to pick...

    The Real Reason Traders Fail

That's 25 trades per day!! I'm assuming you would have that automated and no fees? Otherwise that would be excruciating...plus that would be $350 per day in fees!

    Risk reward sucks for options

Well they used to trade options on the floor so I doubt people were doing the calculus in their heads...or utilizing the Greeks like they do today... But it's definitely all about the math...probably just had

    Risk reward sucks for options

Yes I am more bearish short term IF I was trading I would go with the BWB structured with the left tail above x ? I'm starting to understand the setup....basically you want to bleed off extrinsic value on the short option, at a cost of losing extrinsic value on the itm option. The otm option is...

    Risk reward sucks for options

Here I fixed that for ya...changed to puts and lined it up with the sweet spot. Hey why can't the platform overlay our option strategies on the chart...that would be cool. ;)

    Risk reward sucks for options

Flies are all about @expiry whereas as single call options need to move in a timely manner. By my rough calculations for long options: 68% of the time you will lose money depending on when you close the position because a 1SD move by expiry is at best a break even. 27% of the time you will...

    Risk reward sucks for options

Yes that would have paid off yesterday :) but as demonstrated, spreads and especially fly's perform better, where you can expect between a 1:1 to a 3:1 return on risk on average.

    Risk reward sucks for options

(Yes NVDA) My point is that buying options suck as the title suggests when you take into account the probability of making profits versus the risk.

    Risk reward sucks for options

Here is what would have happened with the price drop on Tuesday: AUG9 111 atm put on Monday was @ 4.87 On Tuesday it would have been @ 9.21 when price was at 103.73 So we have a Pnl of 4.34... not even a 1:1 reward. Here are the results of the gap up this morning if you purchased a call...

Why is my broker giving different results on pnl?

But how can you simulate future bid/ask? I thought these pnl charts just project theoretical price based on time decay. They may adj for IV but the bs calculation does not provide a spread.

Why is my broker giving different results on pnl?

So the next question is if that is what they are calculating, then am I going to make $100 @ $105, or lose $36??? lol Yes like when they track pnl based on the previous day, so you could be down $800 but if you are only down $500 the next day it shows the today profit as $300 lol. Maybe on a...
