    Day trading realistic expectations

Setting a goal of $500/day or $200/day does not help you get there and you have to expect to have losing days and weeks and months. Find a process to get to consistently making money first then you can set some goals for yourself. This is a little backwards.

If I understand you, No. A day trade is a buy and a sell of the same security in that day. If you buy it on Monday and sell on tuesday, that is not a day trade. You will not recover your BP from that trade until over-night.

The Top 10 Hedge Funds 2018

When I do this with my savings, I'm targeting a 8% to 10% overall return even in down to flat markets. If I can get that, I'd be very happy.

    Interactive Brokers for day-trading Futures?

If you use Reatlick, no "routing" fee. They charge a monthly fee only. What you call a "routing" fee is really a fee from the platfrom like CQG, CTS T4, TT, etc. The platforms make their money from that fee, so they charge that and we and every other broker passes through that cost. It can range...

The Top 10 Hedge Funds 2018

I'd rather choose a few hedge funds or CTAs that are not market correlated, so I do not care what the market does while I'm sleeping. I can always add to that a long index position myself. The goal for an investor, not a trader, is to get risk adjusted returns, not beat the "market."

    Retail Accounts at Prop Firms

No such thing at as a retail account at a prop firm. You either join as a registered person or open a "customer" account with a broker like us. With $25K the most you can get is up to 4X for DT, and your account must stay over $25K.

    Interactive Brokers for day-trading Futures?

I would not recommend funding with T-Bills in an equity account where you hold any debit balances as you can incur interest charges. You can if you only day trade equities or options or only have credit balances from options or short stock-or in my example, a futures account at an FCM.

    Interactive Brokers for day-trading Futures?

Regardless of what they show you, all futures trading in the US must be done is a segregated future account as per NFA/CFTC rules. When you apply for a futures account at any broker that offers universal accounts, a futures segregated account is created. In fact many FCMs create 3 for your...

    Interactive Brokers for day-trading Futures?

We introduce to Wedbush futures. 1 Year T-bill is just over 2%. It is marginable at 95%. You fund an account with $100,000 You buy a 1 year T-bill which trades at a discount to parity. Wedbush charges $50 to buy the bill. The most I would fund an account with a T-Bill is 75%, but that is just...

    2018 P/L year to date +40%

In my experience, yes. If I made a lot of money buying puts in SVXY, as a new trader, then look to replicate that over the next year, I might end up giving back all my gains with buying 10 delta puts looking for a home run again. Bob

I think anyone that focuses on VIX type ETFs, that was active or held positions through the 1st week of February, either made or lost a boat load of money and that type of event rarely happens more than once every few years. If you made money, that is great. You just can't expect to replicate...

Wow. Way to general and in my experiance not true. Having the ability to follow a thesis on what your expectations are with the market today, and having the flexibility to do what works, is a better way of looking at it, IMO.
