You and everyone else tries to do that, which is why most fail at ES trading. You need a reason to enter of course but pay less attention to trying to perfectly time things (on the entry) and more attention to being right. Just go look over all your past trades, see what happened after you...

Here's a big hint, may not make huge sense right now but do enough work with it and you'll see the big picture: It way LESS about timing the ES and way MORE about being right. (look back over all your trades and see how they played out)

THIS should be a big red flag. A good trader takes what the mkts gives them based on their method, not some arbitrary # of ticks.

Bang for your buck is only so good as you don't ALTER the mkt by sizing up. Your product has little liquidity. If you want scalp for few lots and make your 500 a day, then so be it. But you'll never be able to touch what I can do because I trade a mkt that can handle size without flinching.
