Didn't keep losses small enough today! Pretty upset at a lapse in discipline money management. Slightly profitable day $ wise, but -11 ticks. Looking forward to feedback on the video. What would you rather me talk about during it? I really want this thread to revolve around the trade...

Thanks for bringing questions/comments to the thread that are exactly what it should be about. Not arguing over what a good trader takes out of CL daily. I would very much appreciate arguments that don't relate to the thread to be kept to PM's.

That is a very valid measure of performance. I can see how it would cause problems for my emotional balance though! I would over-trade because I wanted to be a part of every swing of the market. I think this is key. Regardless of how anyone measures performance, make sure it's the best...

Just so we're all on the same page. I'm referring to ticks as the smallest incremental movement of any market. I'm not talking about looking at 1minute charts vs 1tick charts. A 5 tick move is the same on any chart you look at.

Hey, thanks for the post and sharing your ideas! I'm pretty sure...High winning percentage = low losing percentage. Same thing right? When you speak of..."Average down on each level" Are you talking about doubling down on losing positions? The only time I do this is when I'm trading...

Pretty simple position size calculation. How far away will the stop loss be? Based on that, how much money am I willing to lose on the trade? Then just do the math for the proper position. If my stop will be 10 ticks, and I'm comfortable risking $500, then I know I can trade 5 TF contracts...

Here's the second driver: win:loss ratio I forgot to mention, each data point on these charts is for the last 20 trades. The win% is simply the win % for the last 20 trades. The win:loss ratio is the average win: average loss over the past 20 trades.

The two real drivers of profitability: win%(how often you are correct), and win:loss ratio (the size of your average win:average loss) Most all my trading stats are calculated from TICKS NOT DOLLARS. Ticks don't lie and they speak the same language to everyone.

I wanted to share my drawdown chart with everyone. It's since I left my other job and began trading full time in Feb. It's on a trade-by-trade basis, not end of day data, so you get a real feel for drawdowns experienced intra-day. If it were end of day data, It would only have two down...

tihfa, as far as stochastics and keltner bands go, I don't really use them for entry or exit decision. Honestly, they're mostly there out of habit. The only real use I get from them is to give me a little added confidence to pull the trigger on a trade when I start to let some form of...

Thanks for the info. What's the best way for me to post my trade recap videos? A link to, or embed, the post I've uploaded to youtube?

@Zr1Trader - No, nothing to sell here. Just trading. @Macho - I completely understand where you're coming from on that sarcastic post, there's a lot of that out there. I understand respect is earned though. See you around. btw - I'm having trouble posting for some reason...? They're not...

I've been trading for a little over eight years now. My focus is on the Russell 2000 and emini S&P contracts. I usually have some type of volatility band and stochastics up, but I really trade price action. I enjoy sharing what I do, and continually getting better. I plan on uploading...
