Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

    1) I bet it seems like a depression to the millions who STILL don't have a job, whose UI bennies ran out, who owe money etc. Economies expand and contract that's how a capitalist society works and that is what we are supposed to have here in the US. The idea that people who were over-leveraged...

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

It's the law of the land that the fed govt has specific powers and bailing out private companies/homeowners just isn't one of them. You're using things when they suit your argument and ignoring them when they don't.

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

In a large company I bet the govt couldn't spot that, statistically. certainly not before the company itself. if they're ok with the reasoning behind why their employee is turning down loans, maybe it just makes sense. either way, it's none of the feds business.

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

really i wonder how these companies work where the policy is NOT to loan to minorities because they don't want to make money off of them. makes sense.

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

If they're private companies, it isn't the govt's business, though I don't condone the practice. (Assuming it actually exists)

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

uhmm no. Like if a borrower is borderline credit worthy you have to loan to them or you might be discriminating. Or 'disparate impact'.. what garbage.

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

apparently that's what the berry pickers thought as well. Both sides fucked up, and they alone need to deal with the consequences, no one else. Let's also not forget the fair lending act bullshit.. just another case of the govt sticking its nose where it doesn't belong and turning things...

Paul Krugman economics: Deny, deny, deny!

Yeah you're right ricter. It was just the greed of the lenders that got them in that mess, had nothing to do with their own greed (borrowers). berry pickers should be living in a 300k house lol.

it's an allegedly free market and when you speculate, you can lose (yep, investors are speculating) I don't feel a shred of guilt making money when things go to shit.. in fact my best run was in 08/early 09 after lehman blew up. Everyone has a choice, if you don't want the risk, DON'T FUCKING...

Richest 10% pays 70% of income taxes

My last try, Romney stated his intentions to fix the tax code because he, like you, sees it as unfair. In fact, his plan would have the biggest impact on the 'ultra rich', which was the concern of the poster I originally quoted. This isn't hypocrisy, he pays what he legally owes and was...

Speak for yourself. You're on a trading site, and I bet a whole bunch of people on here (definitely me) would be willing to let nature run its course. Furthermore, if the feds were sticking to the rules, they wouldn't have been meddling in this matter to begin with.

    exactly, well said. :D

Richest 10% pays 70% of income taxes

The tax reform he was preaching was cutting loopholes, which would effect him if your accusation is true. That is not even close to the same as buffet and his hypocrisy, which was essentially 'the rich (<= 250k household) need to pay more, unless they're me.'

Military told to "save every round"as it is running out of $$$

It's like going to college and your professor makes you buy his shitty, super overpriced book. Happened to me at least half dozen times (that im aware of). i didn't even open some of them, and when I sold them back.. received just about nothing. Got scam? On the topic of the thread, it is...
