    IKBR Portal trade ticket question

Sry I should clarify the $16 is the cost to hold the ($87,500) position each day at 6.830%. The rollover cost will be debit/credit the swap fee which doesn't amount to much either way so not really important. I think it's currently -$2.86 overnight on a long position. Anyway, not betting the...

    IKBR Portal trade ticket question

Ok I got into chat and QTY is the dollar amount so essentially how many units of currency. That's where I was getting confused. Still, why do I keep hearing about mini lots and micro lots with forex if you are just buying/selling dollar amounts? Anyway, the costs of a $82,500 margin trade...

Bitcoin as a unit of account

Tell me you missed out on buying bitcoin without telling me you missed out on buying bitcoin...that video is correct. Look at how pizza equity has dwindled against bitcoin...1 pizza used to be worth 10,000 bitcoins...now it is worth 0.00046 bitcoins. :)

Bitcoin as a unit of account

It became pretty apparent it moved beyond being a currency to becoming the new gold standard. The new store of value digital gold, digital real estate. It doesn't need to be a currency...if it did you wouldn't see it hitting 70k when it is rarely used as a currency.. They could just price things...

    IKBR Portal trade ticket question

So I am just checking out IKBR. Using the trade portal where do you select between mini, micro or standard lots? The leverage rate for AUD.CAD is 33:1 So with 1000 USD I should be able to trade1/3 of a standard lot, or 33,000 contracts. So if my math is correct, that is .33 standard lots, 3.3...

    Covering naked call options

Hmm I see now. It's like putting on a short staddle using existing shares instead of selling an actual straddle. I see on the P/L the synthetic performs the same as the regular short staddle. Thanks D!

I think you are confusing it with a ratio spread. There is no advantage to selling a naked call on top of a covered call. EXAMPLE Long 100 shares XYZ stock Short 2 XYZ 65 calls Long 1 XYZ 70 call

According to this a synthetic straddle is formed from being long stock, long puts, or short stock, long calls...not long stock, short calls.

When selling a stock would you rebuy into another stock that has a buy signal yesterday or days ago?

Are you referring to mitigated order blocks? Order blocks are unicorns...they only exist in fantasy.

Looking to team up to create a trading system for reliable personal investment

My question is how a think tank is so late to the party? Unless you have deep pockets you might as well forget about Bitcoin now and focus on alts. Honestly I would just load up on the dips and average down...dont need a team for that.

    Covering naked call options

How can a position with unlimited risk require less margin than a position with defined risk? I don't want to do the math but lets say that you are correct....margin aside what is the benefit of the naked call? Yes it lowers your b/e on the downside but adds unlimited risk to the upside.

    Covering naked call options

Come on D... there's no way that a naked call is less margin than holding shares . The naked call is the single most margin intensive position you can open. I think you meant a long put synthetic straddle. https://www.optiontradingpedia.com/synthetic_straddle.htm That would make more sense...

    Covering naked call options

Isn't that just a regular covered call, with an additional naked call? The margin requirement is going to be large...why not just replace the naked call with a CS put for all the good its doing?

    Covering naked call options

The way I see it, if you are ever about to hit the "buy" button for any shares, you'd be better off selling a put for premium and getting filled at an even lower price. Same with when you are about to hit the "sell" button, you'd be better off selling a call for premium, and getting filled at an...

    Covering naked call options

Interesting...maybe have an OTS order where if your long 149 buy gets filled it will cancel the 150 call, and sell a 155 call so you get more premium and more of the upside. Also, with the long buy order, the position is covered but only intraday, so not sure about margin requirements. Isn't...

RWM ok to hold longer than a day?

I adjusted for that and it yielded substantially worse results...spreadsheet saying atm yields the best results...consistent with the calc above using todays data. It doesn't require much capital considering the returns. Look at it like a buy and hold dividend stock on steroids. :) The HULK...
