If you use stop losses then you are essentially gambling

Competitions don't attract the most talented competitors, they attract people who want to be known as the most talented competitors.

If you use stop losses then you are essentially gambling

Averaging down is essentially like having a dynamic stop price. But instead of actually getting stopped out of the trade you just keep reducing your break even which is ultimately what every stop loss wishes to achieve...to stop out at a break even.

Short positions are bearish...thus selling a put is bearish. I was bullish BITO in Jan this year which is why I bought a leap. Within a pubic hair of getting blown out = Lambo usually...it means you have risked a substantial amount based on an expectation. Within a pubic hair of getting stopped...

If you use stop losses then you are essentially gambling

Then you are day trading...you have much bigger problems to deal with than stop losses. The only thing that separates trading from gambling is with gambling you have to realize losses ..with trading you don't...unless you use stop losses. Thus the comparison.

Where did I say I was bullish? I don't accumulate shares when I'm bullish, I accumulate when I'm bearish. Did they not teach you guys basic finance in school? Are you buying things on sale or do you wait for the sale to be over and pay full price? You always hear that only 2% of traders make...

Wrong? Selling puts isn't a bullish position, it's a bearish one. They should be renamed bear put spreads when you're short because I am selling a put at the price I'm happy to take shares, and I am expecting to get assigned because I'm bearish on the market. If you are selling puts or calls...

If you use stop losses then you are essentially gambling

You have entered a position that you want no part of at a certain price...versus entering a position at a price you happy to own it at, and manage from there whether hold, leg in more, or average down.

Reverse the trade to get back loss

Yes never do I ever use stops. I mean in crypto where the market is 24/7 and they actually work (as long as the exchange doesn't crash) then maybe, but with stocks they only work intraday...and if someone exits all positions intraday then they have even bigger problems than stop losses. Even...

Help explaining margin requirements on CSP (IBKR)

Lol correction I have a 70% loan value (LTV), or a 30% cash collateral requirement. So basically I can finance 70% of my trades even on these higher volatility options.

I have never once paper traded. It's a wot. In fact a brokerage agent on the phone suggested if maybe I should open a paper trading account when I was down 28k on a BITO leap. My equity was down to 5k lol. You guys would have bailed. I was getting a little nervous that the move would happen by...
