is there ever a good time to average down?

My trading is not based on a rigid plan. It's more dynamic. My average is 800 @ 28.12 I've collected (not including the 16k pnl) $4075 in premium. So it brings my avg price to about 23.02 This is why I prefer selling puts...you are essentially getting paid to be wrong. :)

is there ever a good time to average down?

Well part of the strategy is to start buying near the bottom. But as I posted with SPY even if you bought at the top, averaging down would have yielded excellent results over the one year downtown. I'm maxed out on GME. Since brokers use FIFO I don't know why they don't keep every position as...

    So basically dollar cost averaging.

is there ever a good time to average down?

Unless you got the absolute bottom which you won't, you are either averaging down or just holding on to a loser....which is fine. Averaging up makes no sense... by the time price is going up you should be loaded up.

is there ever a good time to average down?

Why would you add to a winner? All you're doing is increasing your break even.

is there ever a good time to average down?

There is never not a good time to average down.

Collapsed bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox is about to unload $9 billion of coins onto the market

See! The chart was showing 59k as a possible price target months ago when we were topping at 72k. The chart literally projected this drop. The news this time happened to be Mount gox. Last time it was FTX. If it wasn't them, it'd be something else . Perfect example of the news facilitating what...

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Ok now I see it (22.51-1.50=21.01) Current price is 22.03, so relative to bitcoin BITO moved up $1.02 (22.03-21.01) So if no dividend payout we would be at 23.53 (22.03+1.50) It looks like any dividend drop is short lived followed by a pop, so I'll just hold till expiry to see if BITO recovers...

BITO's next quarterly payment date is on Jun 10, 2024, when BITO shareholders who owned BITO shares before Jun 03, 2024 received a dividend payment of $1.77 per share. BITO's previous ex-dividend date was on Jun 03, 2024. The ex-dividend price on Jun 03 was $26.16 So how are you getting down to...

100 Jul5 24.5 BITO CALLS @ .09 purchased on Thursday. Ok were on! The last time BTC retraced to this level BITO rose to $25.87... So tomorrow my position theoretically could be worth $10,783.80...but if you look at recent levels then I will barely break even. I bet price barely moves because...

Dumbest thing you ever did in trading

This is why if I make a trade I walk away and let it play out. Stop losses most of the time stop profits imo. Does your broker not have oco orders? Also, I wonder if you're managing risk with position size if you calculate how many profits you leave on the table by getting stopped out early...
