yahoo SPX volume is just weird

What is "GSPC." In your question, you wrote "SPX", which is a cash index. What S&P symbol are you looking for volume on?

CQG vs. Thinkorswim data feed accuracy

It is interesting as I spoke to a TD/TOS user just yesterday that told me he wanted to switch to me from what looked like slow futures data feeds and lagging executions with TOS. We offer CQG Q Trader, CQG Desktop, CQG LITE, in addition to RealTick. I get no complaints about speed for either...

CQG vs. Thinkorswim data feed accuracy

If I had to guess, and this is just a guess, I would put my money on the largest futures platfrom world wide that every FCM offers as being correct vs a retail platform that offers futures as a side business.

    Execution speed

It matters because you decided to exit at that point when the stock was trading at that price. If you order is being held and you do not care, well that can cost more than the fees charged.

rb7. I have clients in Russia and they are not getting 4 second execution for DMA orders. Much less. Low enough to not complain and they are automated traders.

    Selling SPX boxes for interest

my quick answer is that i’m Not talking about margin, I’m talking about Cash. If you buy the box and then use cash to buy stocks, at some point you will be borrowing money from your broker. Happy to describe the difference between market maker margin and portfolio margin over the phone one...

    Execution speed

What asset class? What route are you offered? Is this for marketable orders? If the order is marketable, an equity or option execution through our Direct Market Access (DMA) or "SMART" routes are typically executed in well under a second. Futures would be the same. If you are sending equity...

    Selling SPX boxes for interest

Those risks are not part of my criteria. The concern for me is not the BD having a SIPC event. The concern is how do I use my limited cash. In a simple example, if I buy $1mm in non-risk options spreads (cash settled indexes have no pin or early assignment risk), that $1mm is not marginable and...

    Selling SPX boxes for interest

I personally, as a customer or MM, would never buy a box in a cash settled index as a trade. I have legged into and trade boxes in equity options, many, many times over the years.

    Selling SPX boxes for interest

For an account that does not use their cash overnight (Shorting stock, net short options, day trading), you can fund with a 1 year T-bill a part of your account and get very good short term rates.

    Selling SPX boxes for interest

JackRab, I spoke to FSU offline. The purpose of both sides doing this is not always to lock in that rate but often to offset other option or long stock balances. E.G. For the Seller. These spreads are typically initiated by the seller-IMO. PMA Size $1mm long stock + long options + short...
