Is IB's Hidden orders type "real" (or simulated)? Can a hidden Buy hit a hidden Offer?

This is cool. https://www.sec.gov/marketstructure/datavis/ma_exchange_hiddenvolume.html#.XEETklxKiUk Nasdaq calls them NON-DISPLAY orders. https://www.nasdaqtrader.com/content/ProductsServices/Trading/OrderTypesG.pdf Orders are hidden from the marketplace. All incoming order flow can interact...

Best way for an American to trade foreign markets?

I did not, Sky_Davis_ did. "But have been looking to trade foreign equity markets" I suggested that is way to hard for an early stage trader and even though Futures are high leverage, it would be easier to learn and you can trade extended hours.

Best way for an American to trade foreign markets?

Do you think foreign equity markets would have a short learning curve?

Why does T3 take 5% of profit, and SMB takes 60%?

T3 has a trading desk in lower NYC. They use Sterling and LS.

Why does T3 take 5% of profit, and SMB takes 60%?

Would you say you are a trained, consistently profitable trader that would benefit from 20:1 leverage for DT. As these prop firms provide that to those that have experiance and don't, the path for those that are new to trading, scaling too soon, often does not end well. I do get the social...

Why does T3 take 5% of profit, and SMB takes 60%?

Yes. We offer customer accounts. I think the 1st loss JBO prop model had its day and is less relevant and necessary. Those that desire more leverage or can't fund with over $25K can trade futures. I would only "join" a prop firm if I wanted to be a MM or if they had technology I could not get...

Best way for an American to trade foreign markets?

I would only consider Global Future and stay away from the single stock risk of foreign markets.

Why does T3 take 5% of profit, and SMB takes 60%?

Thank you. On a side note, a customer account gets you 100%, requires no registration or lock up of capital, SIPC etc.

need advice on broker + clearing firm + platform for daytrading stocks

I would say Lightspeed Trader is a great choice for equity DT. I would also look at Realtick Express. On RT, you can access Equities and Futures but you will need two accounts. https://www.lightspeed.com/trading-platforms/lightspeed-trader/platform-features/...

Why does T3 take 5% of profit, and SMB takes 60%?

I thought SMB was part of T3. Does SMB back traders or does the trader put up 1st loss money.

    Electricity Trading

It is my understanding that most FCMs do not allow trading in Electricity Futures except for hedgers with a balance sheet as volume and OI are very low.

NG margin funkiness at the CME...

SPAN margin is calculated based on portfolio analysis of risk from past movement, not the expectation of the future. https://www.cmegroup.com/clearing/risk-management/span-overview.html

    Long/Short Equity strategy expectations

When 1 year T-bills were well under 1%, there was no reference. Now that 1 year T-bills are around 2.70%, you have to add that to your expectation. 5% with a low risk strategy was great 3 years ago, but today you need a higher target, IMO. With a PMA, 1.5X to 2X both long and short would get you...

    Long/Short Equity strategy expectations

So for a $100,000 account, long just under $100,000, Short just under $100,000? (To avoid margin calls, you really can't exceed L$90K vs S$90K) I'd say it is hard to find a hedge fund that does this that exceeds 5%/year.
